Hmm, so he says he hit him several times. Frankly, no matter how much you belong to the "yes saar" attitude etc, a young cricketer who knows he is on TV, surely trying to impress girls or whatever he shakes his booty for, calls the aussie team "****" - must have some ego and balls; atleast that or he is a complete fake while imposing those big round eyes..so was he so much in pain that he had to cry like someone suitable for a ekta kapoor serial? or smartly gain public sympathy while being diplomatic towards his teammate A big brother is a blood big brother, even that today is hardly to be seen..so u guys tell me if someone beats u , u just gonna keep quiet..when there is all this fame, ego and money is involved? the guy takes sachin as an idol and has shown him attitude too? so where the fack was big brother then? I'd say Harbhajan is an ******* but I wouldn't take this "embarrassment" called Sreesanth on face value as well if he really wanted to save harbhajan, he would have never cried like that

Harbhajan hearing today, 10-match ban likely The Indian Premier League has temporarily suspended Harbhajan Singh following his spat with Sreesanth after the game between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings XI on Friday in Mohali. Harbhajan's hearing will be held on Monday and sources tell CNN-IBN that an eight to ten match ban is on the cards for the off-spinner. In an 11-year career, Harbhajan and controversies have been constant bedfellows, but this time he seems to have pushed the envelope too far and the BCCI bosses seem determined to send out a strong message. Chairman and Commissioner of IPL, Lalit Modi said, "We took action because there was conclusive proof. We went through many, many angles on the tape and we found conclusive proof of the incident." Match referee Farokh Engineer will be provided with evidence from footage made avaiable by Sony and TWI. The BCCI has already said that there is prima facie evidence to suggest that Bhajji did indeed slap Sreesanth, although Farokh Engineer has said that he will consider all aspects of the incident before taking a final decision. Farokh Engineer says, "We are assimilating all the facts and findings and I can assure you that a fair decision will be taken. We are not saying sweep things under the carpet." Meanwhile, CNN-IBN has learnt that Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is unhappy with Bhajji's behaviour and do not want themselves to be associated with such a controversy. HARBHAJAN'S HEARING * The hearing, which will take place in New Delhi will most likely see Harsha Bhogle accompanying Harbhajan Singh while Neil Maxwell will be with Sreesanth. * Also, there will be no further punishment for Harbhajan by the BCCI after IPL decides to impose a ban. * Ahead of the verdict, Chennai Super Kings Captain MS Dhoni said one needs to look beyond the TV footage before drawing conclusions. He said: "I hope the authorities check the actual sequence of events rather than just what the footage shows. It's a lot like what happened between Zinedine Zidane and Marco Materazzi. What Zidane did was wrong, but Materazzi also was not completely in the right. ---

Dhoni's take

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India's captain in the shorter versions of the game, hoped the authorities would check the sequence of events rather than just go by what the footage shows in the Harbhajan Singh-Sreesanth controversy. Comparing the row to the one between footballers Zinedine Zidane and Marco Matterazi at the World Cup final, Dhoni felt that the act of provocation needed to be checked too. Harbhajan was temporarily suspended from the Mumbai Indians side for allegedly hitting Sreesanth after the match between Mumbai and Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on Friday. His hearing, today, is based on additional footage of the incident from one of the host broadcaster's 21 cameras at the match. In the World Cup final, Zidane was sent off the field for head-butting Matterazi after the latter allegedly provoked him with personal remarks. "What Zidane did was wrong, but Materazzi also was not completely in the right," Dhoni wrote in his column for the Hindustan Times. "Harbhajan is a very aggressive cricketer who plays hard and is there for his team-mates whenever they need him. Even Sreesanth has seen this supportive side of Harbhajan in the Indian dressing room. Sreesanth is also a very aggressive cricketer who likes to express his highs and lows very passionately on the cricket field. Off the field, you will not meet a more soft-spoken guy than Sree." Dhoni was happy to know the two players had sorted things out between themselves and said the incident was unlikely to have any effect on the Indian dressing room. "The incident ... was unfortunate because I know both of them, and they are not bad guys at all. Everybody is passing judgment based on what is reported in the newspapers, and I am too far from the scene to actually comment on it."
