adi B
60 overs at least and score 200 ,a target of 370 should be more than enough Link to comment
adi B
I hope we are not in such a situation, that hives england a chance to drop the bat and play out the overs for a mundane draw. It'd better if we get all out for 420ish and England are forced to chase the runs Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
78 overs and 240 odd runs hopefully . Link to comment

From here, we have 6 sessions remaining in the Test. Considering how dark it gets in the late evening in England we are likely to lose around 15 overs each today as well as tomorrow. That's 30 overs/ 1 session Wasted so only 5 sessions remain. Thus, if India bats 2 sessions today England will only have to survive for 3 sessions in the final innings. It will be a blessing in disguise if India get bowled out in the Post Lunch session and don't prolong their stay at the wicket Post Tea. In their quest for setting up a safe score, India might end up wasting lot of time. Edited September 5, 2021 by javier26 adi B 1 Link to comment

You want India to set a target of 170+ 240 = 410 and only want to give the bowlers 100 overs to dismiss England. Now that will make the Draw favorite. Link to comment
SRT100
India need to bat England out of the game where they cant win. Bat till after tea. Give themselves about 1.5hrs before stumps. Australia have done this successfully over many Ashes campaigns and England end up being bowled out. Link to comment

If this pitch continues to stay flat, you need the runs on the board and need to make sure the carrot is dangled such that England score at 4 an over and play false shots on the process. I do believe 100 overs is enough to bowl out England. Link to comment

The pitch will get slower and there will be variable pace and bounce. Anything above 275 is quite tough on 5th day England pitch. Not sure about the stats but last time, 200+ was chased on this ground was several decades ago and maybe once or twice in last 100 years. Link to comment

Yeah looking at how the pitch is behaving ,it ain't that flat or straightforward to bat on . The bounce looks variable ,tailor made for siraj and umesh Link to comment
