I don’t know why people are hyping Siraj in T20. From day 1 the argument has been that he is not a white ball bowler but will be perfect in red ball. 
 

Fans then (not you. I think you always backed him) said trundler etc when fans who saw him were shouting from the rooftops he should not be judged on those and red ball is his format.

Then he gets selected in red ball, becomes a star and then a couple of decent IPL games and people talk like he has figured T20’s out.

 

He always bowls the same length and yes if he gets conditions that suit him he will run through lineups. In fact in 2016-2017 too he had a very good IPL season just like he did last year.

 

The only sample size he has is previous International white ball record which is poor and you can’t push him in WT20 just because he had a couple of good IPL games and success in test cricket.

 

In fact not picking Siraj was a fantastic decision and I think he and us as fans will benefit from this.

 

I might get hate from fast bowling fans but Deepak C and Bhuvi are way better options than him in T20 and even Thakur who offers batting depth as well.

We have the same IPL teams since 2007, that is the last time we won WT20. If we can’t win a WC, take your IPL teams and shove it where daylight is a no-go zone. Laanat hain

I feel that selectors have gone for specialists, which is a consistent pattern with Indian selections even for T20.  But in T20, more often than not, its a batting shootout, and having a guy at #7 who can put up a 30 ball 50, or can come in and give you that cameo of 25 from 12, has value.  

 

Axar can slog it a bit, on his day, but not reliably.  

 

Yards the better bowler, no doubt, but I'd even go as far as saying that in t20 cricket, I rate Krunal the batsman bit better than even Jadeja.  This is not to say I am a Krunal fan - he's a quintessential bits and pieces player, just about barely adequate with either skillset, but in T20 such players often end up making crucial contributions over the course of a WC.  

He did jack shyte in SL . He s too overrated

.... Atleast one among Shardul and D.Chahar should have been there for their lower order batting ability.

.... Why only 3 pacers. ????

.... Hoped to see Siraj.

.... 5 spinners is an overkill.

Current form,he did well last ipl,

His sample size in lois is small though

People often go with current form that's it

On current form Shardul is also not behind and he can provide you balance in t20s

Chahar too is good,he can swing it upfront,any way they won't play more than 2 pacers else what was the purpose to take a whole army of spinners there

I know this is what is going to happen but -

 

I would go with Ishan Kishan in place of Rahul to open with Rohit... Kishan can blast plus a Left Handers.. And it solves the top 3 being the slow starters..

 

Rest team remains the same with Char Playing between him and Shami as they are expecting Crumbling pitches.

The pluses are massive. I do like Dhoni selected as a "coach" over there. Its a strong positive. Kohli is out of his depth as a captain, Dhoni will help guide him.

 

I presume the backups for Hardik is Thakur and for Jaddu its Axar.

 

3 pacers is a concern. It means we need them to be fit and injury free.

Only Kohli should be able to anchor the innings, the rest must have the freedom to go big. There is decent depth to the batting lineup to recover if we lose early wickets.

Im not so sure, barring injury unless there is a clear standout in the IPL with batting or bowling, this squad will likely remain the same.
