World Cup bound England players will miss IPL Playoffs

Recommended Posts

Regardless of whatever peddling/dalali that some ICFers do to trumpet  IPL as if they family's income & India's "pride" depends on it - Patriotic cricketers will ALWAYS put their country ahead of a private franchise. Always.

India's pride is in winning ICC trophies - not in a domestic masala slugfest. Too hard for some people's common sense.

Looks to be a stunt by the ECB. Franchises should be allowed to majorly cut player salaries in case of such last minute situations.

Like I said in the other thread, IPL franchises should keep a distance from England players. In any case, the market value of these players wil see a massive dip in next year's auctions.

Yup. ECB will be burnt bad. I see players rebelling like KP eventually.

IPL > World Cup, World T20, Test series

It is the people who determine what is important. And the people choose IPL.

If people = low cricketing IQ 'fans' who enjoy the cheapness of local franchise cricket where player allegiance keeps changing every season then you might be right.

Quality over quantity any day.

OOH, Eng players would play for their country in the series in Pak which clashes with IPL playoffs; OTOH, Ind players used the COVID scare to cancel a test (which could potentially jeopardize Ind chances of winning the series for the country) to immediately fly to UAE (therefore in touch with franchises even during the test series) in time for the first few games at IPL

Absolutely. They used the 5 days of the Final Test to travel to UAE and quarantine so that they will be no delays to start of the IPL. Some unique safety concerns these players had. Don't want to stay any longer in England because of being stressed about health concerns and worried about Family, Kids etc but then travel to UAE right away.

Earlier this year, when Aussie and English players quit the IPL mid-way because of Convid scare in India and deaths around the Country , they went right away to their families and took a break from Cricket rather than playing some lucrative tournament here and there.

It seems they were more worried about the safety of IPL than their own personal health.

Duffers living on low paying jobs in India and unable to succeed in a global market space begrudging successful NRIs.

LOL, nothing better can be expected from IPL circus clowns.

LOL. NRI coolies.

As if India just didn't create 21 tech unicorns in 2021 itself. We are building our own first world country here, not doing gora's goolami.

Don't support India. Not your team. Support NRI losers like Hameed, Panesar, Ajaz Patel, Sodhi etc.

That is the level of NRI achievement. Mediocre players playing in stronger teams run by better white players. They only serve a small role in their teams - never to become a star or captain. Similar to how NRIs take great pride in working for gora companies. At the end of the day, its still their companies. You are just a worker. Nadella/Pichai etc will never be viewed in the same light as Gates/Brin. They are the innovators and stars. NRIs just the worker bees.

Kohli, Sachin, Bumrah, Dravid all stayed in India and succeeded in "global marketplace". Similar to guys like Ambani, Tata who stayed in India and built their global empire.

You must be silly to think that became CEO of a USD 1-2 trillion tech firm is just by dint of being a worker and not huge capabilities.

Microsoft was founded by Gates - it remained a company just making money of MS office and Windows. Ballmer was a disaster as CEO.

Under Satya, MSFT built a much diverse business portfolio especially in cloud computing/Azure.  Even office 365 is cloud based - a huge money spinner.  The Market cap of MSFT under Satya multiplied many fold. While Satya is no Gates, he is a great leader.

I am proud of succeeding in some of the toughest tech interviews in the world where I had to compete with the best global talent in the world to get a role in business ventures for a tech firm.

Using your genius "gora" analogy, Cricket is a game  invented by the "gora" who ruled us for 200 years. Why follow and play a sport invented by "goras" ? Our cricketers must be "gora" coolies to. They are just workers playing a game invented by the Gora.

Why are you on a forum about a sport invented by the Gora since you detest them so much ?

You should look at Gilli Danda and Kabaddi.

It might be a sport invented by a gora but we own it now.

Difference between ownership and working in a structure.

You might be proud of succeeding in a tech interview cause that's your ceiling - others are proud of creating their own business companies from scratch. No one makes movies or documentaries about people who succeed in tech interviews.

Satya might be capable but at the end of the day he is still a capable worker rat. NRIs at the end of the day are worker rats working in gora companies. Real heroes are the Indians who stayed behind (mind you, could have gone and easily worked in some american company) and are building this huge Indian tech ecosystem. And they are worth way way more than any NRI worker rat in Silicon valley - both in terms of money and prestige.

You are out of sync with the reality and largely clueless. You have the right to talk the way you do when you have built a unicorn ground up.

Founders are few and far between, entrepreneurship is an extremely risky proposition with very high failure rates. 95 % start ups fail. And it takes alot of luck to succeed.

The more risk averse but  people set their career goals around high powered jobs. Does not mean they are workers or coolies - they are just risk averse.

If you think all super successful NRIs are only "workers" - again it is your sheer ignorance.
