Disagree.

Fans have every right to voice dissent and dissatisfaction when their team runs away, under dodgy bahaanas,  from claiming a historic win.

No idea, why some people here are trying to shutdown the debate. Come on folks!!

People accepting mediocracy and accepting lack of accountability is appalling .

Ultimately the sport’s economy revolves around attention span of spectators.if the spectators or fans don’t demand accountability the product which is the team doesn’t deliver it .

the Australian people demanded a public statement for smith , Warner and Bancroft the minute they landed in Australia after sandpapergate …

why can’t we hold our players to same standards and why is there a push back on demanding transparency in this forum ?

This we have to wait and watch. A showdown with players before IPL is a NO - NO. They will surely use the stick when they get a chance.

Cricket is between fans, players and board. Fans have every right to show dissatisfaction of not having a series win in England.  They have invested money, time and emotion into the game.

Spent money on tickets, travelled, taken time off etc. Kohli jee have some explanation to do here.

Because we put them on pedestal. There is no professionalism. Kumble was a professional and was replaced by the village idiot.

I would say that most of them have this thought process:

Questioning our players = Towing the line of Firang boards.

Hope they re-examine the emptiness of their arguments.

Axes being ground using the 5th test cancellation

1. Padosis for obvious reasons

2. Some fake poms (most likely Brut Pakistanis) trying to hide their frustrations of another series loss

3. Ashwin fans for him being denied a final opportunity to play in England on this series

4. Rohit haters unable to digest the kauwa biryani he's been serving them

5. Grumpy and Salty Michael Holdings of ICF trying to show how much they love Test cricket and hate IPL

6. Anti-Kohli/Shastri brigade including me making them the villain and get them fired somehow

Players are spoilt rich kids which recent display shows that. Whereas it is cricket board that deals with other cricket board for sponsor, booking and scheduling series and tournaments with other cricket boards on paper affirming the contract with iron clads.

And right now, it is BCCI looking like idiotic board having no control over players while looking like joker in front of England cricket board that agrees to affirm the contract with iron clads only to make themselves look like jokers thanks to BCCI pampering players like spoilt rich kids. Only BCCI is capable of being retarded as idiotic cricket board. None can match that for now.

BCCI is acting smart. Confrontation is NOT the best option before lucrative tournament like IPL.  The dose will be subtle and behind the scenes.

None of the above.

It is about accountability.

You are not a getting simple point. If the players felt unsafe nothing else matters. They don't have to give any justifications for it to anyone else other than BCCI.BCCI is fine with it also and that should be end of it.

But fans need to understand, while they can show all dissatisfaction, Cricket is played on the field and ground realities are different from the comforts of their living room where they invest time and money to watch the sport.

If the players are concerned to take field, which was very much valid, It is not because they have to scoot to IPL early. Don’t compare their concerns are excuses that general public give for jumping the signal at traffic. Ridiculing our own people or system is prevalent amongst us. We short sell ourselves too often. I have heard a lot say, “jaane do, hum log aise hi hain”.

India has come a long way from being treated badly in away tours. In the 70s, they have been asked to board in Bed and Breakfasts with no facilities. Ask older players about such treatment. Fans should appreciate how Indians are able to hold their ground in this case. Forfeiture ki maa ki. BCCI can cause more losses for ECB in the future if ICC decides it as such.

This is factually wrong. Many fans throng stadiums and show their support.  The whole fracas is opaque and arbitrary. Where is the official statement from players on reason behind their stand? One mahaaradhi calls BCCI and test is cancelled.

Fans deserve to be heard and have right to know what the hell is going on.

And I do not disagree with the rest of your post. We tend to distrust/thrash our own and goras treated us badly in the past.

They have an obligation.

If they feel unsafe about their well being, that overrides any  obligation. No one has right to question it. If after 5 or 10 days everybody is fine and they play ipl they would have done nothing wrong either.

Players are not responsible for schedules.ECB knew very well the risks of playing this test so close to IPL. India was in England since early June they could scheduled it better also.
