Taliban and it's off shoots will not keep quiet. There already are reports of jehadis from world over assembling in Afghanistan. They will cause the same level of mayhem in land of pure which was there in late 90s and 2000s.

Unfortunately we will be affected as well but this time, it maybe mostly limited to J&K.

if they were really determined they could target uae itself when some thing is going on there to make a statement. it is not out of the realms of possibility even if more improbable.

Dude there is no way they will dare touch saudi soil. That will be the end of Taliban and saudis will hunt down every single businessmen or politician who ever backed them.

they have unlimitrd money and power and dont follow the UN war rules. Even pakistani army and ISI are terrified of them

It will be like Mossads Operation wrath of God times thousand

Hope Jaffer doesn't get hate, but not optimistic cos SM can be brutal. His choice of words could have been better, and of course the timing was bad....terror threat is serious and after what happened to SL in 2009, no wonder some boards will be extra cautious especially if they get certain kind of intel signals/reports. Life is more important than sports, and if something bad happens to even one member of touring party, it can have serious ramifications (political, social) back home.

If NZ made it all the way to Pak, stayed and trained there for a week, and had to pull out last minute there must have been some serious security threat. Taliban takeover next door has changed everything in that region, and to think there are so many outfits in Pak inspired by Afghan Taliban:facepalm:

It is a natural reaction. PCB chairman yesterday itself called us as their enemy alongside NZ and England and we have an ex player showing sympathy with that rogue nation. Their news channels have been blaming us for the happenings, some even egging on their authorities to disrupt IPL and our cricket.

If anyone tries to do these kind of stunts in such a scenario, should be ready to face the brickbats.

Cricinfo's George Dobbel shedding copious tears for the tour cancellation. Blames ECB and players, compares security situation in England with that of Pakistan without mentioning the Taliban or the credible threat to NZ team even once. And like most of his Cricinfo colleagues, subtly slips in anti-IPL agenda as well.

Lovely to see these pro-Pak guys cry. Adds to the fun.

2nd one. Completely lost it.

I rarely visit most forums these days, let alone peepee. But abhi wahaan pe gaya and the ideas/suggestions I've read are so bizarre. Nobody is ready to accept that the tour was cancelled due to their political establishment welcoming Taliban occupation of Afghanistan and not because of white supremacy of the five eyes.

England is the home of modern democracy, so multiple opinions or point of views are accepted. Dobell, Atherton or anyone from the Sky team can share their sympathies but ECB is assertive enough to know what they want.
