He is past sell by date and should retire.

But not sure why he is not doing it.  He was big on seniors going out from short format when he came in as a young player. Now is is older than those players but still wants to play even when not performing.

I am no Dhoni hater by any means and never ridicule him like many here do.

agree man .. he gets more hate and trolling if he continues.

CSK is keeping him for his brand. Nothing else.  Even at his peak he had this issue with acceleration. Rituraj has taken CSK to final. Otherwise they would have been wooden spoon winners.

wud be unfair to say rutu has taken this team alone, every game they have a new MOM which means every other player is performing

Also they havent reached the finals yet

His franchise owners seem okay with his non playing type of role and will ask him to stay on for another season, which is only 6-7 months away(assuming April). It is up to him to decide if he is okay with being a diminished batsman. His keeping is still fine and he controls the flow of the game very well from his position. Also,.this time the pitches have been slow and pretty much every batsman is struggling, so Dhoni wont be as harshly judged.

He’s gonna stay with this fluke innings:facepalm:

I am not a fan of him as much of the next guy, but let's be honest was a very good innings taking his team to the final. Let the CSK fans have thier day, well deserved and probably the most supported franchise in the league

Dhoni at his peak was something else, clutch as you can get, great servant of Indian cricket, wonderful player who unfortunately overstayed his tenure, still a class white ball captain mind.

Yes. Fluke or flake, he dragged his team over the line in a high pressure game, taking them to the finals.
