If Boult can generate any swing both Rahul and Rohit will be sitting ducks again. That is fatal weakness for them and they won't have any answer for rest of their careers. You just hope Boult does not do what Afridi did today.

that’s so true. Rohit Sharma has never played Boult in the MI nets. They don’t know a thing about left arm pacers

The common sensical solution is to have left hander opening at the top. We do have options. You are making it out to be as it Left arm seamers are from another planet that the Indian team is not familiar with.

they have played boult a million times in the MI nets

Thats why Ishaan ( he cant be worse than Pandya. is there..and he knows how to play Boult through MI but Kohli is such a bozo that he will not change the team or at worst drop SKY. This chadarmod has no clue how to pick the right team

Pandya and Bhuvi need to be dropped and Kishan/Shardul need to be brought in

So what, if Rohit gets 100 time the same delivery he got today, he will get out most of the time.Boult has to still put in that spot and get the ball to move, if he does Rohit will not have answer like he did not today or CT 2017 finals,

What is the point of Dhoni? Had we won this people would have said he guided Kohli but if they lose than Kohli is the culprit.

No it’s not Dhoni’s fault either. Pakistan played clinical cricket and we played phattu cricket with passengers like Bhuvi,Pandya and some over the hill cricketers unfortunately.

I squarely blame the SRH management for persisting with Bhuvi :)

I don't like Kohli the captain. He is impulsive, petulant and vindictive.

That said, the loss yesterday is not just his fault. If not for his batting we would have barely crossed 110/120. Apart from him and Pant, no one else made any meaningful scores. Pak would have chased it in 10-12 overs. Our bowling looked so ordinary and never close to taking a wicket. All our bowlers played below par. What does a captain do in that scenario?

If everyone had an off day, not fair to blame it only on the captain.

A captain has to do more than what you have said in your post

What about his bowling strategy, selections, field placements?

Spread field the moment pp was over,a par score defence strategy was never there

If you pick a squad that is expected to have off days more often than not in their current form then he needs to take up responsibility. Besides that on-field strategy was one of the worst i have seen in world cup history of India.

be happy that  such  a streak of 12 matches was created in the first place.  Again be happy that  there is still great chance for extending the  longer streak of the 2(7:5 in ODIS:T20s) that too in the by far important format between the 2.  Sooner or later these streaks would have got broken  even by the law of averages.

So , not at all disappointed that the  lesser important streak and there by  the over all streak has been over.

But the only major disappointment  is this 'thrashing'  .

Many of us here believed that we would hv won the CT 2017 Final had we batted first. However, looking at our top order's vulnerability against left arm seamers, I think we would hv lost.  Amir would hv run through our top order.

Maybe maybe not, batting first is relatively easy in such cases not to mention we could've salvaged a half decent total in 50 overs. In T20 you can't see of f the new ball, over 50 you can! So even 250-300 could've been defended there, remember no dew either - this game was lost in part due to the conditions. I'm pretty sure had Pak bowled second Chuzkeez or any of their spinners would've been half as effective as they were in the first innings :whack2:

I'm coming out of my self-imposed ICF exile to post this.

Kohli have some shame and retire. You have broken enough furniture in your tenure. Haven't you got tired of ruining things?. Now you have gone and broken a 30 year old legacy which was built by your cricketing ancestors from Tendulkar to sidhu to prasad. Hell, even matchfixers jadeja belted pakistan in bangalore and azhar brought their captaincy A-game against Pakistan.

You're just not a captain material.

You can't lead.

You can't select a 15 member team let alone a 11.

You can't win a f'in toss to save your life.

You cannot bat according to the team situation. What is the use of your 57(48). Yet another useless stat padding innings.  This has rather gone unnoticed because of his captaincy shenanigans. Poor kid Pant had to take the responsibility to infuse some momentum into the innings and he got out at the wrong time.

Jesus, what a shitshow.
