But in his mind Jadeja was the best Jadeja without doubt is one of the better fielders in the world but fielding is all about collective team efforts, no point having one Jadeja and filling the rest of the side with Varun, Ashwin, Rohit etc. Edited November 10, 2021 by Vivek92 maniac 1 Link to comment

Forget about batting where it is a no contest but Livingstone has been a very useful 6th bowler for England too. Sandeep99 and vvvslaxman 1 1 Link to comment

New guy
Difference having lower order hitters make. And do remember, each of them got enough match practice, england top 3 didnt play conservatively and hog overs in bi laterals Sandeep99 1 Link to comment

And do remember, each of them got enough match practice, england top 3 didnt play conservatively and hog overs in bi laterals You don’t expect teams to use a meaningful international game as match practice. Sports or cricket is about winning. If your top 3 can get you over the line so be it, if they fail others should do the job it is that simple. Sehwag scored 300’s and 200’s, Then we had Sachin, Dravid,Ganguly etc, still did VVS complain or blame them? Similarly as @vvvslaxman pointed out Yuvi/Raina/Dhoni success came when we had a packed top order too with Sachin/Sehwag/Gambhir/Ganguly all vying for the opening slot and then there were guys like Uthappa,DK thrown into the mix as well. You are either good or bad to bat in any position. Our planning could have been better but it is dumb to point a consistent performing set of players as a problem for the failures of others.
