My Final team -

See if you can guess without reading the names.

1. Only man with three double Hundreds

2. Destroyer of all modern attacks in all conditions, man of the tournament in last world-cup

3. Arguably the best ODI batsman ever. His spin bowling was underrated.. his chewing gum was not!

4. Can change the game with the bat, or with the ball. 130+ strike rate, fast bowler who can get crucial wickets.

5. Set the standards for ODI wicketkeeper batsmen. Best till date according to me.

6. My hero. Man of the tournament in India's last WC win. Batting, bowling or Fielding - he would get into any team.

7. King of Swing - with the bat and the ball. Knighted allrounder - peerless team man.

8. Limited overs spinner who can turn it anywhere. Bamboozling everyone with fast googlies - best current day leg spinner.

9. No one can swing it at the speeds he did! Best strike rates in game over a sustained period of time. Gun bowler.

10. Nick Named "The Wild Thing" was spearhead of the undefeated bowling attack in 2007 worldcup. Few can crank it up as good as him.

11. One of the Nastiest bowlers, last of the feared Caribbean merchants of pace. Batsmen were happier at the non-strikers end!

1. Rohit Sharma (bat)

2. David Warner (bat)

3. Viv Richards (bat/ part time spin)

4. Andre Russell (bat/ Medium pace)

5. Adam Gilchrist (Wk)

6. Yuvraj Singh (bat/ off-spin)

7. Sir Ian Botham (bat/ fast medium)

8. Rashid Khan (leg-spin/ handy bat)

9. Dale Steyn (Fast Bowler)

10. Shaun Tait (Faster Bowler)

11. Patrick Patterson (Scary Fast Bowler)

A very long tail. And with that top 3, you'll find yourself in the 50/3 situation very often against half decent bowling attacks. Even Bevan would need someone to hang around with him in order to be effective. That tail is not going to allow that I am afraid.

Herschelle Gibbs?

Also, I am sure you can find someone better than Albie Morkel and Collingwood/Ranatunga.

I will rather get teams restricted under 250 with that Specialist Bowling lineup - McGrath, Malcolm, Murali, Bumrah, Vaas - All have low Economy and also wicket takers

Vaas and Malcolm are no mug with bat, they can easily do cameos. Also, Bumrah has improved a lot with bat. Only McGrath and Murali are proper tailender who will not even be required to bat given the low scores :yess:

Towards the end of his career McGrath improved a lot with bat, so will be at no. 10 :bandit:

I will interchange Murali and McGrath as and when required. But with my Bowling lineup they will ne required to bat most times :aha:

How about KL Rahul at no 5? Also, Vettori can get there.

I was thinking of KL too but maybe instead of Dravid, if you wanna play Vettori coz at least 4 seamers have to be there imo

Come on man, Gibbs was one of my favourite players growing up. Flamboyant, aggressive and pretty entertaining. His 175 in that 434 chase is widely regarded as greatest ODI knock of all-time.

I was into two minds between Gibbs and Hayden for the final pick but somehow ultimately went with Hayden.

Aaron Finch (vc)
Mark Waugh

Joe Root

Rahul Dravid (wk)

Kevin Pieterson

Eoin Morgan (c)

James Faulkner

Chris Woakes

Adil Rashid

Mohammed Shami

Morne Morkel

Mushfiqur, Gibbs ,Azhar, Cronje, Tahir, MoYo, Haddin, could also potentially make it

I Would back this team to give a tough time to some of the other teams picked...

Deep , solid batting: Waugh was a personal favourite if mine growing up, there's arguably better, at least more aggressive by modern standards options (Like Gibbs) but factor in his bowling and fielding ...him and Dravid SR is a concern but more than enough power elsewhere to make up for it, Root and Dravid are a good middle order accumulator duo and KP and EM (batting too low) round it off with  powerful unorthodox hitting and Faulkner of course, was very unlucky with injury or he'd be LOI legend (MotM in 2015 final for his bowling)

There's variety in the pace attack : Morkels pace/bounce , Shamis skiddy seam , Woakes swing, Faulkner left arm ...maybe bit light on spin but Adil is a v good LOI spinner and Waugh/Root will chip in.

And it's got the two best current LOI captains
