First class
I think ICC and BCCI have to work it out , in a realistic way. IPL is not going away anywhere , its here to stay. Its not just good for Indian players and cricket , top cricketers all over the world need it and want it, all of them are professional sportsmen. But without test cricket , there is now cricket, for many, if not all of cricket followers. An IPL window and a little bit shorter IPL season is way to go. Link to comment
mancalledsting
As Ian Chappell predicted a long time ago, t20 (i.e. IPL) interest will burn out. Why? There's only so much you can watch boundary-wicket-boundary. Too many highs within short period of time. Only sustainable as a short term fad like the attitude era in WWE, it's currently undergoing it's peak. Wait for the aftermath. goose 1 Link to comment

kubrickian
Funny thing is barely anyone in England test team play in IPL whereas quite a few Aussie test players do. England test team is crap because the rot is much deeper. For a team that cares so much about Ashes, they have hardly came close to winning a test match in Australia in a decade. mishra
Lol. Every other team above England is playing IPL or white ball cricket. He is criticising Eoin Morgan for being successful in whiteball cricket. Point is, IPL will ensure less poaching of quality talented players by certain teams which has historically relied on this policy. rising 1 Link to comment
Vijy
I feel like the title is somewhat misleading. some people have been cribbing about IPL for a long time; not very new Link to comment
vvvslaxman
If IPL hurts any team more that will be India lol England probably is the least hurt team given the limited participation. Link to comment
AKane
This is a sign of our woke times. It is always someone else's fault. England cannot play in Aus in tests. English county cricket is failing to produce players for test cricket..... English players are not playing tests like tests and esp fielding badly. So blame the IPL. Suhaan 1 Link to comment

Apart from 1-2 series where they had KP, England have been getting smashed in Aus way before IPL was thought of. Once their honeymoon period with lois gets over ,they will start their rant about too much focus being paid to "Test cricket" Link to comment
