That off stump channel weakness was always there. Just that he managed to get away with let offs or  found another way to negotiate. That too only for brief period. If this guy had faced Mcgrath who was king of off stump channel specialist in the history of the game, he would have been devoured in every single encounter.

He faced Cummins who is as good as mcg.

Cummins owned him tbh. You can check the record for yourself.

He struggled vs Cummins in India bacnin 2016. Granted he carried an injury.

He also dint do all that great vs Cummins in 2018. Averaged 42 in that series but struggled vs Cummins. Got out to him several times. Cummins owns him.

No way Kohli is better. He has far too many technical holes. He got away for a small window of three years due to his superlative reflexes. Outside that window he was average. He was even dropped right after his debut something Tendulkar never had to go through as he became undroppable immediately.   He didn't face an array of bowlers in tests over a lengthy period. Forget about 2 decades even within a decade his window is too narrow. Many guys have done that before.  In the 90s he was more commanding than Kohli will ever be. He could literally pull full length balls. Back in the days keeper used to stand way behind the stumps, Perth was a genuinely fast pitch. Kohli played in an era where Australia's strategy was rolling out flat decks and outbatting the opponents. Heck even Rahane made runs in some of the series.  Tendulkar didn't have enough tests in the 90s because India played more ODIs. If Kohli continues his form he will get very close to Rahane level.

I never said Kohli had better technique than Sachin.I also disagree that Sachin somehow faced better bowlers.India never faced any great bowling attacks before 2000s. Sachin's Perth 100 was made against three medium pace bowlers and one Mcdermott  and not against Lillee and Thompson.

Kohli's Perth 100 was made on new Perth stadium against legitmate great fast bowling attack on fast wicket. His score was the highest in the match too.

Kohli if he continues to play like might end up with less avg than Rahane. That is not my point, with Kohli and Tendulkar at their best, I will always pick Kohli in any format.

Pretty challenging bowling to face, especially in conditions that suit them

India faced good attacks in 2000 and 90s. India and Asian teams barring Pakistanistan dint have a good bowling attack overall which let the quality suffer.

Now India along with sena and Pakistan all have good attacks. Even west indies attack is underrated. Bangla toygers have their best attack ever now.

About time Kohli is doing the same.  Spending everything he earned.

he should go join Tendu in that video. and then all of ICF can go crazy debating questions like: which of the two walks better on a log across a stream?
