What I fear about the IPL and BCCI is that eventually a day will come when the IPL becomes like the EPL or AFL/Rugby in Australia it will dominate the calendar for the majority of the year.

The difference for Australians and the English is that these sports are winter ones and once its over we are happy to watch and play cricket.

For Indians, when the IPL is over the last thing they want to watch is more cricket. See for me I am excited to watch India v SA in the T20, not many Indians will agree with this, because of the IPL.

Massive difference between the countries.

IPL has the potential to destroy not only Indian cricket but world cricket as well.

Why play for your country, when you can make more money easily by playing IPL?  At the end of the day, cricket is a job for these guys?

it seems likely that IPL will become multi-month

Tbh Ipl was really entertaining almost all of the matches were nail-biters, with the exception of final :phehe:
International cricket has become tedious in recent years, and to make matters worse, we have a lousy loi side full of crooks like Rahul, Pant, and Jadeja.
Unless things improve, I'll refrain from watching our loi side.

Wont happen ,Epl,Afl are western products so they are rated ,Ipl isnt ,it will always be seen as a lower brand. You can see this even in Tests .people get excited when they see tests in eng or aus .

You have completely and totally missed the point.

Yes it will happen, in India. There are many posters and fanboys that celebrate IPL like its the greatest event, it comes up and brought into every conversation at times too.

Of course it wont happen in England and Australia, because cricket is a sport that is only followed for 2-3 months at most.

Which is why now I am excited and looking forward to the T20 SA series, where as most Indians are not.

Why is ipl such a concern, ipl has helped domestic cricketers in india ,something that has been ignored for long by us ,our standards have been abysmal and hence we have never dominated int cricket ,now finally we are getting started .When world cricket used cue up for county cricket or club football for that matter then it isnt a concern .

Back in the pre ipl days, people would complain that we play too many meaningless bilateral odi series for money and not enough tests but now to counter ipl bilaterals are seen as a lesser evil ,i dont understand this mindset .In the pre money making odi days ,teams didnt even want to tour india citing lack of  facilities and amenities and now when there is money in indian cricket it's see as corrupting the real game .

This is india from the good old days of pre ipl, pre odis and only test matches, in the words of fred trueman

Other sports need to be develop cause this team is mediocre in reality. In football having 25-30 nations that can beat each other and are competitive is better than cricket. People need to realise cricket is a commercial sport now . BCCi needs a competitor hightime. Paytm series and others should mean nothing. This IPL hype needs to die down bigtime and BCCI should eat humble pie and allow players to participate in other t20 leagues around the world. Bcci chose to not let players participate in other cricket leagues cos of money. We need to see players as people not some 'gods' and people need to stop going Gaga over them.

There are some unexpected twists and turns in the lives of sports fans as to which sport they like best. I used to be a big cricket fan, betting and winning a lot on the sport I love to watch. But recently, I lost interest in the sport. Similarly, I stopped betting on cricket, although I live a life of betting, and for the last two years, I have earned good money thanks to https://1xbetbangladesh.net/mobile-app/. After a short time, I started to bet on other sports I was interested in. 1xbet mobile app keeps absolutely all our primary functions and sections. By downloading and installing it, you can fully manage your account and realize all your needs in sports betting or casino games.
