Umran 157 v DC

But it is expected now as he only looks to bowl fast ... does not matter where the ball pitches, what the batsmen do, ...

I was expecting him to touch 157 but not this early. He can probably hit 160 one day.

of course, he will need to work on control and scaling back his pace a bit

no need of that. Everyone gets hit on bad days. Today Bumrah did.

Umran has already shown hes got good yorker and quick ball that goes away. He'll improve further without compromising on pace

Umran got thrashed by Warner and Powell who are known big hitters.  Bumrah needs break. getting hit by Gills and Sahas does not bode well.

Umran bowls excellent lines and lengths at 143 k to 153 k

That is still very quick. And his bowling looks devastating at this speed range.

He should aim for this.

No i would like to differ here, good that he has tested his limits

He now knows he can operate in that territory too

Offcourse bowling at that pace takes juice out of you with slight control loss

But once in a while in some situations he can bowl express and create terror,

With more experience im sure he will be able to bowl with pin point accuracy even in 154-155+ range in one  spell in a day especially for tests

Bowling only to contain runs and not picking wickets always ends up like Bumrah

Bumrah has forgot the art to pick wickets

He now looks scared to pitch up

He needs to rediscover himself, might well explore the option to take a sabbatical leave

Gill also smashed Starc for five fours

Although he's not a hitter but is a very elegant fine batsman

Low point was getting pulled and picked up by length by Saha

Bumrah's short deliveries were just too easy to put away,he has totally lost it

You are right needs to take a break

Lockie 154 (153.xx)

Nortje 152-153

Joseph 152-153

Moshin 151

There is one more bowler, probably at #3,  whom I missed

Anrich Nortje

Ferguson steals it from Umran in his last match of the season. 157.3 attempted yorker to Butler, a dot ball.

Shami 148 LOL! His earlier fastest was like 3Kmph slower. Has still got it :top:

For the record, fastest ball = 157.3 by Lockie

Good to see fastest ball bowled by the fastest bowling attack of the competition (Lockie, Joseph, Shami, SDP, & Dayal). In many games, GT played with both Lockie & Joseph.

5 bowlers capable of bowling > 140 either occasionally or regularly. add to that rasheed
