For their ranji exploits. Mavi especially was good in ranji in the few games he played.

Personal opinion that Mavi, Nagarkoti won't make it ever. They just seems one level below International.

I had similar reservations about Khaleel earlier and I am also getting same vibes even from Avesh too.

Moving on, I am more chiffed about Umran, Prasidh and Porel ( deserves consistent chances though )

Agree on Nagatkoti Khaleel and Avesh

But Mavi seems to have the right ingredients for the international level. Just needs to bring in more discipline

Mavi lacks attitude. Looks to be happy playing IPL

Khaleel has more chance of playing at the highest level among the names mentioned,he still is the best left arm prospect nad his IPL performance have been quite good till date, just needs to remind himself everytime that he is fast bowler not a cutter slower specialist

The positives I’ve noticed in this season so far:

1) SDP bowling his full quota every game. Will be very integral to our WC 2022 plans, if he can give us an average of 2 overs per game it will really help our team balance

 2) emergence of talents like Badoni and Tilak. Tilak has the potential to be a far better version of Raina

3) like others have mentioned, Umran doing well is also a massive positive, as we desperately need somebody like him in our LOI squads

4) A lot of Indian seamers are able to use the little seam movement on offer in the initial overs which is a great sign for our fast bowling stocks

5) Hooda’s middle overs batting can be an asset, and he’s done well so far. He can bowl as well so that’s an added bonus

 6) Sundar showcasing some finishing abilities

Ravi Bishnoi doing well. I think we should give him as many games as we can till T20 WC.  Rahul Chahar isn't far behind but Biahnoi has earned his stripes.

Kuldeep coming into his groove is crucial for us in ODI format.

In pace bowling Prasidh comfortably looks most impressive.  Khaleel showing he is the best left arm pacer in the country & people laughing at his price during auctions need to get their heads checked.

Need to see more of Umran.  Guy has barely played anything even at IPl level.  A full season here would be ideal for his growth.  He is going toe to toe with Ferguson in terms of being fastest pacer on show.  Their collision will be mouth watering.

Tilak Verma & Badoni.  Verma could be what we wished Nitish Rana will turn out to be a Raina replacement.

While I love Tilak's potential, folks are getting seriously carried away on the back of one innings.

Have to say he really does appear to "look the part", but there's too much knee jerk 'he will help India' energy.

Umran is quick, but needs a non-trivial bit of 'seasoning' for the international level - tbh he looks a lot like the young Pak pacers who are often rushed to international cricket and end up having maybe one good game or so and get spanked in the rest.   For his sake, I hope he's handled with care and brought along to a higher level with some good management.

Hardik Pandya has started bowling, but looks like he won't be the same bowler he once was - yeah right, bcoz he was Malcolm Marshall when he was fit.

He was always a raddi, mediocre bowler who had no skills except pace, scatter gun of the highest order.

Guy can bowl a decent well disguised knuckleball, which is very handy.  Can bowl cutters if the conditions are favorable, has shown that he can even bowl a slower ball yorker.  That's a decent list of variations on top of being quick enough to restrict batsmen with short stuff.

For a batsman who can bowl, that's reasonable quality.  Yes he has over-relied on pacy short stuff initially, but if you watched his bowling you'd have seen his variations that he has deployed regularly over the years.

of course if you are one of those who insists that Vijay Shankar is "better" than him etc, and don't want to stay objective then its no point....

Tilak Verma is what Sundar should aspire to be. Both have similar frame and similar base but Verma hits big and can play innovative shots.

They are both very different type of batsmen.  Sundar is a lot more 'technical', offers a lot more solidity.  He can hit but is not as much of a hit first batsman.

I am a big believer in Sundar's potential, but feel that he needs a few things to go his way to fulfill his potential.  Some part of that is his individual development - as you said, improving his boundary hitting for white ball cricket etc, but a lot of it will depend on timing of slot availability, injuries (where he's had terrible luck so far), etc.

Tilak mostly dominated spinners. But Badoni attacked seamers better.

Both have a ways to go.  Both look good so far.  Tilak looks more 'explosive' i.e. his hitting abilities seem to be a bit better, while Badoni has exhibited quality temperament.  These are a couple of games, calling them small sample sets is an exaggeration.

Kuldeep looked good today even after Assault. Has developed a 110 kph fast ball that he unleashes from time to time.

Yes, tactical mistake on the part of Pant to ask Kuldeep to bowl to the short side of the field. Despite that beating, he came back and bumped Maxwell. Should give great boost to his confidence.

I want him to work a little more on thinking-on-the-feet, i.e., if you get hit for three boundaries, you should be able to quickly come up with a strategy in that over itself rather than after the over.
