sarchasm
Harshal on hard, flat and unforgiving AUS decks? Not convinced. OTOH, very much in favor of spinners - leggies/offies/LAO - who turn big. So kuldeep instead of Chahal. The other spin A/R? Prefer Axar/Washington over Jaddu. Bumrah, Prasidh and Siraj with Hardik as seaming A/R make up the rest for me. Shardul, Bhuvi and Chahar shouldn't be within a mile of the playing XI. 6. Hardik 7. Sundar/Axar 8. Bumrah 9. Siraj 10. Kuldeep 11. Prasidh Remember, batting depth in T20s is way overrated. Not enough overs in play for the illusory cushion of batting deep. The trade-off is a vastly more penetrating and versatile attack. DarkProfile
9 hours ago, DarkProfile said: My approach would be something like this: 1) Context is the king! Since we play in Australia, I'd analyze the data from their national leagues & the T20s hosted there in the last two years to see if there are any particular type of bowlers who do not work there. This will help me to avoid these type of bowlers in my desired set. No matter how much in-form are these kind of bowlers, I won't take them. 2) Line up the batsmen of each team that we play in league phase. 3) Do data analysis to find the key weakness of their batsmen - bounce, pace, swing, right-arm, left-arm, leg-spin, fast spin, etc. 4) Then, assemble an abstract lineup of bowlers (one leg-spinner, one left arm fast with specialty in bounce or swing, etc.) who fit the match-ups in stage 3. 5) Now, this is the stage where I would ponder over the concrete names from the pool of bowlers available to us. Forgot to add one essential step in my "horses for courses" approach. Added now (in bold). I'm soon gonna make a topic where I will mentally masturbate to being an armchair selector and apply this approach to arrive at a concrete list of names. Please bear with me. Texan
11 hours ago, Jay said: but the wickets in australia will be different though? being good on indian pitches will not make said bowler effective in aus and vice versa. have to look at skills mainly. thakur prasidh bumrah should definitely be in. That is why I have picked Kuldeep Yadav. He has done well in Aus in the past. My opinion on Thakur is split. While his batting is definitely handy, his bowling is way too wayward. Lone Wolf
Bhajji was advocating Umran Malik for T20 WC in Australia... He is developing well but let's see with Siraj/Shami struggling who knows & Deepak out... Looks like we will get a new pace battery to partner Bumrah. express bowling and Ankit_sharma03

Prasidh/Siraj are more test bowlers. Harshal will be under consideration. One of his ball was clocking 142 kph. Arshdeep is also decent in death. Vijy
broadly speaking, we need 6 bowling options. if Pandu keeps up his batting and bowling form, he should be there. 6. Pandu 7. Sundar (can be used as floater and go up/down the order based on matchups/situation) --> PP specialist [another option is axar] 8. D. Chahar [we don't have genuine PP specialists, and deepak's batting is a big bonus]; thakur is an option, but not suited to bowl in PP 9. H. Patel/Nattu/arshdeep --> death overs specialist 10. Kuldeep/Khaleel/Bumrah --> choose based on conditions/combo 11. U. Malik//Khaleel/prasidh [middle overs enforcer] Edited April 15, 2022 by Vijy
