They did overpay, but it's in hindsight now. If Fracture Pandya would have been bowling and in decent form last season, then MI might have paid to get him back instead of Kishan and now might have won 2-3 games.

For retention, he would only have preferred the 1-2 slots (out of question for 3-4 slots, which is why likes of Pollard were  retained as they would settle for 3-4 spot. Zaheer spoke in this) and once released, he was guaranteed to be picked up by Gujarat … If he was already in talks with GT for captaincy, he would have declined to be retained by MI anyways even in 1-2 slots.

It was illogical from the beginning. They spent 48 cr on retained players. Then 23 cr on Kishan and injured Archer. So 71/90 crores on just 6 players where they would need minimum 20 players.

Should have used some of that fund to get Krunal. He was more crucial to their setup than Kishan esp after they lost Hardik and how premium lower order Indian batsmen are. Now they are scrounging all over the place to get somebody to bat lower down the order and bowl a few overs

Again why is that a problem. For this 19 cr, they got Varma, Brevis, Tim David, Fin Allen, Mills, Markande, and Undercutter. They have everything on paper at least, just that it didn't work as expected.

RCB have Managed to get their hands on talents like Prabhudesai & Shahbaz.  MI sic*d balls in the auction like DC.

shud have retained hardik, i dnt knw why many assumed that he didnt bowl two season so he wont bowl rest of his life

All rounder across world have suffered contnious injury issues - marsh the longest n more reoccuring one. Stokes also has started bowling less and stonis also didnt bowl in 1 of the BBL seasons. Even watson had series of back injuries.

MI also has scouted some good talent but their main players apart from bumrah n sky havent come good . Youngster will max be suppourting which is the case with shahbaz too

After retaining Rohit, Bumrah I guess Hardik would have to be on the lower brackets and I doubt he would have accepted. Krunal atleast was available in auctions. Either way lower order batsmen are key to the balance of side and Mumbai seem to be struggling with that

Shahbaz is literally winning RCB crunch games...  Yes DK is taking all the limelight & rightly so but Shahbaz is constantly playing clutch crucial inns back to back & doing the job with ball as well.  Him & DK have galvanized RCB lower order despite struggling top 3.
