I don't want rohitaa cause he is fat lazy and chokes.

Don't want kohli because well it's kphli duh

Do not want blundering idiot rahulaa as opener. In MO he can be our pushpa type leader at 4 or 5.

Absolutely no dhawan. Sorry kota bhai. You should play odi only.

My team:

1) going with pant but even he is doubtful

2) Shaw. again questionable or gaikwad

3) sky

4) rahulaaa

5) triparthy aka chapathy like bish says

6) panduu bhai aka my kaptaan. Champion mentality despite being not so talented.

7) tewatia  or  sundar if fit. Ffs this kid.

8)shardulllllla or  drona chaharya

9) umran

10) prasidh

11) bumrah first change NOT OPENING. Or go with kuldeep sen

Hardik Pandya is very talented. Not sure about champion mentality though, he has to prove himself.

Final squad based on a mix of preferences, conditions in Aus, current form & match winning abities:

Batting

KL

Gill

Samson

SDP (Hardik)

SKY

Tewatia

DK

Bowling

D Chahar (as he can bat at #7-8 + bowl in PP)

Umran (for pace)

Yash Dayal (left arm pace option)

Chahal (looks for wkts)

Rest

Kuldeep (back up spinner, can be played if 2 specialist spinners are needed)

Prasidh  (can be played in the 11 too per form)

Harshal (for MO/death bowling, can bat too, fills the utility player slot)

Tripathi (for 360 degrees and positive batting + can bat anywhere)

Agarwal (good fielder & can bat anywhere + some good performances in tests in Aus)

Notes

* Bishnoi is a good option too but the the form and experience of Chahal gets preference. Kuldeep as he can turn the ball the other way

* Yash Dayal over Natarajan as he is constantly improving, moves the ball both ways, uses bounce relatively well, and balls at more pace too (difficult to have an attack with D Chahar, Harshal, & Natrajan in the 11)

* Shami/Umesh can be considered as well

Playing XI (based on IPL performances)
1. KL Rahul
2. Pant
3. SKY
4. Hooda
5. Hardik
6. DK
7. Tewatia
8. Kuldeep Yadav
9. Umran

10. Bumrah
11. Prasidh

>> 4 Proper bowlers, remaining 4 overs can be divided between Hooda, Hardik, Tewatia.
>> Kuldeep has the ability to hang around and bat, he can atleast take singles and rotate the strike, hence preferred him over Chahal. It gives me 3 high pace attack.

Reserves
1. Ruturaj
2. Yuzi Chahal
3. Yash Dayal/Khaleel Ahmed
4. Tripathi
5. Deepak/Shardul

>> An option each for Opener, Floater, Wrist Spin, Left Arm and Bowling Allrounder.

1. Pant (wk) --> tell him to go for all-out attack

2. Gill --> has underwhelmed in IPL, but game is very well-suited for Oz conditions [back-up: Gaekwad/Shaw]

3. KL --> if he overcomes mental midgetry, can consolidate or attack

4. Hardik (hopefully can give 1-2 overs per match) [back-up: Tewatia, who would come in at no. 6]

5. SKY [wild-card: Tilak Varma]

6. Chapati [back-up: perennial underachiever KKD]

7. Kuldeep yadav

8. Khaleel/Nattu

9. Bumrah/Shami

10. Prasidh

11. Umran

All of nos. 7 to 11 can take wkts and they have diff skills.

Lets first try to figure out the bowling combinations. In Batting, most pick themselves and I don't see that top 3 getting changed unless there is an injury.

New bowl pace options - Shami, Siraj, Prasidh, Avesh, Mohsin

Death overs option - Bumrah, Harshal, Natrajan, Arshdeep

Bowling A/R - Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur

Express pace- Umran Malik

So, all in all we have 11 options to figure out the best combination. Bhuvi doesn't count in that 11 for me.

Basically same old team, same approach and probably same results too.

Dhawan???????

Yes want that team. They will lose badly and then we may go ahead with a fresh team after that.

We said the same when last WCT20 team was selected. It has to happen like right now.

This isn't going to happen right now. One day WC at home is a better place to start. Easier format for youngsters than T20.

in Batting DK is a big hitter on flat patta's. check his career , he is a failure outside india and he scores well against minnows. evry time karthik has come back , he has failed and more ever why should we give opportunity to him , he is not the future. i would play GILL/Prithvi/ Deepak HOODA/shreyas Iyer/ishan kishan depending on form ahead of DK.

Samson- his international career is flashy, dont think we can pick him in an international team ahead of ROHIT SHARMA and few others as batsman, he is a **** Keeper.

tewatia is great , i would pick him if the world cup is in ASIA but he is not the best against sheer pace and may not be good enough to be picked as a batsman if it is in Bouncy australian Pitches.

Bowling

D Chahar (as he can bat at #7-8 + bowl in PP)- Hardik is a better option than Deepak CHahar but still Hardik and deepak both can be Picked.

Umran (for pace)- Yes

Yash Dayal (left arm pace option) - MOhsin Khan OR Khaleel are better options than YASH.

Chahal (looks for wkts)- not in australia, Bishnoi is a better option.

Rest

mayank agarwal is OK for Tests ..not for T20

tripathi is OK for patta wickets not for SENA countries.

i see many better options in bowling AR position than Harshal......Deepak chahar or Shardul are better than HIM.

BIshnoi as a Spinner could be better than Kuldeep. kuldeep some times does not get turn and thts whats will happen to him in australia and then he wont be picked.

Jaddu will be the only spinner played in 11.

Not advocating his selection. But how can you say he is a T20 failure when he has played a grand total of only 32 games.  Even in Australia his strike rate in T20 is 153.  in NZ his strike rate is 161.

Every permutation n combination have a problem of its own

  • We dont have many lefties
  • We have so many one phase bowlers
  • Many bowlers cant bat, pretty much all specialist cant bowl
  • fielding will be another concern
  • Our Captain Rohit sharma doesnt deserve to be in t20 as a batsman (most overrated t20 batsman ever ) but he is the best captaincy option at this point.
