Agnipath scheme unveiled: Govt unveils radical changes in recruitment of soldiers

Heard some senior citizen chatter that this will affect 2024.

All I hope is they (govt) grow a spine and back the policy, it's fine to lose the election. At ur end, try & explain the problems with piling interest payments on future generations. How wars have changed and a group of soldiers carrying old rifles alongside tanks in the plains are not necessarily better than flying a single drone. How much the world has changed and while tech makes some private sector workers obselete on one side, one can't be stuck upon decades old ideas of guaranteed employment until retirement. How there's a world of opportunities if one is willing to learn some skills.

Agniveers will be trained with skills of drivers, electricians…: Union minister’s remarks spark row

More job opportunities

Thanks to Kailashji for revealing deep secrets, these agniveers will be reduced to mere coolies, drivers, and security guards once they retire.  Do not trust this jumla government, they will throw all sorts of jumlas, lolipops as they did during farmers protests, it cell dogs like anshul saxena will be used to defame protesters but the agitation should not stop, oppose this scheme with all their might or face the consequences after four years.

Instead they should all become highly paid financial geniuses, IT specialists and scientists?

If not required - why? This is not an MNREGA employment guarantee scheme.

I'm the sure the best will automatically be absorbed the the armed forces.

Why not ? Govt has unlimited money which can fix every problem. If Zimbabwe can print it, so can we :whine:

one thing is clear, the BJP govt are TERRIBLE salesmen.they mess up the message on every new scheme

The messaging was clean on CAA, it was just about giving asylum to 30k minorities. The ecosystem came up with cock & bull stories about how 20% of the population would be stripped of citizenship. As if 25 crore people will be pushed into the ocean.

Ditto with farm laws, the idea was to open up selling opportunities. It was overnight transformed to Ambani/Adani making farmers into low wage contractual laborers.

Yes, they haven't learnt anything on handling the messaging before the news is released. They should have a months long debate in prime time on how we can't fight 21st century battles with 20th century ideas, about salaries and pensions consuming more than half the defence budget, the problem with interest payments on deficits and potential opportunities post short tenure of service. It was gonna be a hard pill to swallow anyways but it needs to be done.

And who makes that decision? Only for chomu bhakts,  a man in his 20s  in peak shape and fitness is not require.

Sorry but you keep asking me silly questions and then expect constructive debate in return.

And hence my question, are people here really naive or acting innocent?

If you want me to spell it out, JCB is not out now cause the protestors are not Muslims. They are just “angry youth” aka vote bank that should not be touched.

Can you prove that Hindu youths rioting in UP/MP are owners of illegally constructed home?

If yes, then your claim is valid.

How many people own houses during their college days?

Don't be so naive.

As I said, if you want to be naive or obtuse and continue to maintain that everything happened by law, then feel free. There are lots of discrepancies in the supposed “illegal” construction of the girl’s house, and even if it was illegal, I have never seen a govt directly bulldozing a civilians house without due process.

Why don’t you guys just own it for once, and just say that yes it was pure intimidation tactics to scare all Muslims. As they say, you can’t really wake up ppl who are pretending to be asleep.

There is procedure to demolish illegal construction . First give notice then time to reply and then demolition. majority of homes in India has illegal construction .
