Boss he is still not a certainty in odis. Test to door ki baat hai.. kl rahul rahoo ban kar jab tak rahega he ll not be a certainty in odi itself. Reason is following line up. Where will he fit in

Yes I think the same..dont want him to slow down his game plus expose him to some injuries with the amount of time you hv to play in test cricket..

Here is an interesting stat regarding SKY in comparison to ABD and Gayle.

SKY's SR goes from 149 in T20s to 180 in T20Is. 

 

On the other hand

ABD's drops from 150 to 135 in internationals  

Gayle's drops from 144 to 137 in internationals

 

All three are comparable in domestic leagues like the IPL, but the other two's SR drops off considerably in internationals, while SKY's shoots up.

Also need to remember that ABD and Gayle's stats are over a longer period of time, and they played their cricket when average scores were on a relatively lower side. 

 

SKY's numbers reflect his purple patch and he is playing when teams score 170-190 frequently, and are now aiming for 200+ batting first.

some batters do well in domestics and not int'ls, and others do the opposite

The only issue is his age. Hopefully he can play few more years. He doesn’t seem to have the ODI game. May be give him few more and if that doesn’t work out leave him as T20 specialist. Tripathi is one more guy who is in 30s. The damage done by previous selectors was not to select our best t20 bats.

in the bigger tourneys, rohit, kohli, dhawan, and kela will be back.

Interesting that only 5 current batsmen average over 30 with a 140+ SR at WT20s. England has 2 in Roy + Butler.  India has the one with the highest SR, but its version of Roy (Shaw)has some issue with the BCCI that they have banished him.

Need to account for opposition too as at world events, teams also play associates, where many players improve their record. For e.g. most of Ind’s top order (#1-3) failed against Pak & NZ in 2021, but scored against SCO, etc., when Ind was practically out. Similarly in 2022, where many failed against Pak, SA, & Eng (SF).
