This clown stirred up the 'no handshake' drama as a diversion tactic due to poor form. He has been the worst batsman in T20Is this year, even associate teams won't pick such a useless guy.

na he was ordered to

Its unfirtunate Iyer git injured at the wrong time..so they will have to keep SKY till this wcup..I will support him for now and hope he comes good.. Atleast good thing about him..he wont waste too many balls unlike Gill..

Then that on the up off side shot. He repeatedly holes out inside 30 yard circle.

I think since leg side one is not coming off..he is now overtrying off side one to keep up with scoring :D

I do hope that he somehow sorts his issue by practicing thousand shots like them or whatever since Iyer cant be in side..

If he is able to get it sorted..this T20 side will be very dangerous..

His dip coincides with the Ind playing super aggressive cricket, think he is trying to match Abhishek and Sanju and later tilak and hence he is trying to play everything on leg-side. Its like he has lost off-side game.

He has to play how he he use to access off-side and play shots there too, may be he is found out a bit not sure more of it looks like he just trying to go leg-side.

He has issue with balls on 4-5 stump bowled at pace and he nicks to wk. But that the obvious know issue, other than do nt think there is other issue.

Also he needs to fix the stance he is too opened up and is losing shape white trying to power any shot in off-side.

His form is a worry but not that he is nt t20 batter and has played v.good record vs top t20i sides , yes ICC events have been an issue.

Those who are making an argument for Iyer is not a bad argument but that is based on IPL sky had good IPL too, and when Iyer was having issues with short ball in Aus ppl were commenting if he has sorted that issue or not.

See most ppl do not understand t20 batting if diff from Odi batting , even if there is batter who is not good in certain side can do well in Odis as they can pick and chose which bowler to go for which ball to go for they just need to preserve their wkt and attack at right time, there is no such luxury in t20is .

Teams might just build pressure by just bowling the line or length that batter can not hit 4/6 adding pressure on the batter themselves and the partner too.

Take example of batter like Fakkar, Rachin, Daryl Mitchell, Pandaya looking at their Odi sr one would think their SR in T20is should be above 150 its not. Apart from Pandaya all are below 135. There are other examples too.

I think the pick up shot on leg side he plays..he tries it for a six..he is trying to whack it more..if he is not getting his timing right.due to trying to whack it..weakening hand eye coordination/reflexes due to age etc..he is ending up giving as a catch..

I am not sure but he needs to get his timing right first..instead of thinking about whacking it as the milliseconds difference may result in catches..

If he needs to practice it thousand times..so be it..

Once he is back to normal on leg side..he can play on off side to without overtrying and may get more success there too

Just my observation as a normal person..some experts may know more technically

Check his tons vs Eng or Nz he plays alot of off-side shots and once he got 50 or something then only he had such a wide open stance where hw is trying to be extra aggressive and yet trying to open up off-side, now its just leg side with wide open stance .

That kind of stance only help if batter has clean and big bat swing, that is not his game , may be open stance is because of losing his eye sight and wanting to keep both eyes and head facing the bowler not sure.

But when he 1st came into intnl team he use to start with tight stance and play in off-side yes he would still play flick and ramp+pull but currently, its all leg-side

SKY had chance to cement himself in 50 over finals but he was too timid, till he does anything of note in knockouts and finals he will be a liability.

Exactly. People forget he exchanged  pleasentries with naqvi during captains meet up. It was pak captain who blew him away.
