The ones with the suspected jihadi links or the ones who stood on the street and yelled "Pakistan Zindabad"? If it is the latter, that is an extreme reaction, no? Of course, I would be at the other extreme saying that the guys with suspected jihadi links should be tried fairly in a court of law before deciding their fate, being that India is a civilized, law-abiding society. Both, normalizing sedition is causing all this. Jinnah said we will leave Muslums back to make a thousand cuts. Such acts above is severe National security concern, Govt can’t take it lightly. It’s not that easy to do these things overnight. A lot of planning goes. It’s not as easy as we think. Agreed, in principle. But should we be rounding up and shooting people who are on the streets screaming incendiary slogans? I am betting that GoI is smarter than that. They will find more effective ways to quell sedition that don't involve killing civilians for screaming - which, in and of itself, is not a crime.
