Yash has great screen presence. He is apt for playing the role of Ravana. In which movie did you find him expressionless. Funny Bollywood fans are calling other actor expressionless when you find the most stone faced  actors in Bollywood. Bollywood is the least talented of all the industries for the kind of market they have.

KGF( OG film), Pushpa, Salaar and now Durandhar following this trend. Even animal too which has neat and tidy actors was so heavy on violence.

I rate Kamal Hassan, Vijay Sethupathi,  Fahadh Faasil over any Bollywood actor.. even Vikram for that matter.

Yash is terrible sorry to say.  I still can't believe this dude will play Ravaan lol..

You have probably seen  in two movies of him in that overrated KGF. In many Kannada movies he has. shown he can act, not in the level of other actors you mention. But KGF is how the mainstream knows. That is a hyped act imo . This Ravan will be much better than Saif Ali Khan’s , I can vouch.

Yash is a true blue mass action hero. You can't compare him to actors like Sethupathy. It's like comparing Ranbir Kapoor with Nana Patekar. He's great at playing anti hero characters like KGF has shown. Ravan is an anti hero, so Yash will fit right into it.

I have seen some of his other stuff which below mid tbh as compared to even likes of nepo products like Ram Charan and Allu Arjun... And These guys are mass actors with their own genre.

I hope they don't give him cheesy cringe dialogues.. Raavan is not an easy character to play either.  Good luck to him though.

Rana would have been great choice.  Bro can act alright.

But I think they want to cash in on South market so Yash was picked.  They need to be very careful with dialogues though otherwise it may turn out to be another Adipurush.

That is my pet peeve with epics. Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana and B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat got the tone of the dialogues pretty well. While other versions has reduced them battle of kings/clans

Have you watched in Kannada or dubbed versions? His comic timing and dialogues are so typical of Kannada dialect , it would be lost in translation. Watch Raja Hulu. More than Ravana, I am scared of Hanuman mouthing inane dialogues - dhai kilo ki naat, utha nahin uthjata hain. Sunny Deol acting chops are worse than Yash in the mass acting skills

For them, looking with Caucasian features = Great actor.  

 

If the actor is a bit dark and short, he is trolled to high heavens as "kaala".   See the trolling JrNTR is getting in the naarthie twitter.

 

Yash is a good actor. It's just that his character in KGF is 0.25-dimensional and there is no scope for acting there.

:whack:...... he does the macho roles MUCH better than all the metro-sexual midget khan's/kapoor's put together. It is just that bollywood has lost the art of mass cinema. JAAT is such an enjoyable film. Inspite of bad 2nd half.

Sunny Deol is a two time national award winning actor.  Watch his performance in Damini.
