Texan Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Pandya played a clutch knock in a tricky chase. A wicket at that time would have given Aus a lot of hope. Too much stone-walling would have let the required rate difficult to chase. His two sixes came at the right time to nail the chase. Tillu and Ultimate_Game 2

If he had stayed fit in 2023 WC, we win the tourney. I don't think we've lost to Aus with Pandya in the team! AuxiliA and Tillu 2

Many small performances today Axar wicket of Maxwell and short cameo Shami 3 wickets Jadeja wicket of Labu and Inglis when they were looking set for 300 Iyer patnership with Kohli after 2 early wickets

deepdynamo Posted March 9 Posted March 9 KL, for the first time in his career, has shown clutch genes though all that heavylifting was done by Iyer, Axar & Pandya... but still for KL this time.

Clutch: Axar, Dube, Tilak, Iyer, Rinku Softies: Gill, SKY, Samson Time to get players who can handle pressure instead of mental midgets. Can't believe selectors are preferring Gill over Jaiswal and SKY over Iyer. Gollum 1

Among these guys only Sanju can score a 100 at good rate. That is why they are backing him. But he cannot be played so down the order. Edited September 29 by vvvslaxman Gollum 1

Samson can only perform in the top order. He doesn't deserve spot lower down the order. Plus he isn't someone who handles pressure well. He's more in Gill and SKY category than Tilak, Axar, Iyer, Rinku. Frustrated and Gollum 2

Bringing in Gill top of the order is causing the problem, he does not bring any special skill set for a top order t20 batter. Tbh if they want or wanted some1 who can hold one end when needed, they could have hold on to one of Kolhi or rohit. Kolhi offers an elite chaser and rohit is 6 hitter. Its hard to understand what TM and selectors are doing with Gill's selection in t20i other than they see large marketability. Ultimate_Game 1

Either Gill should be replaced by Samson as opener, or he needs to be replaced by Jaiswal and have Jitesh as wk lower down the order. Pick either option but Gill doesn't deserve to be in T20s just like SKY. Gollum 1
