My assemsment. India lack match winners with the ball.
A good shaheen or Naseem opening spell could finish the game itself. India have gone for a more steady bowling lineup.

pakistan will attack with the ball and india with the bat, will be a fascinating contest.

  • u think shaheen will hit his stride straight after such a long gap and no match practice ?
  • Naseem does lack experience and u need to get ur lengths right in Aus, u cant trouble KL-Rohit-Kohli with pace . U have to put the ball in right slot and move it
  • Also do u think pak has match winners with bat specially in Aus conditions they have enjoyed historically

Rohit+Kohli+KL..hv got their bat well oiled now..SKY+Pandya+DK..they are very agressive as well..

true bounce and no swing in Aus..can favor our batsmen strokeplay..overall..

whatever strength lies in our batting..same weakness lies in in our bowling..they kinda a nullify each other..making it 50/50..

however..lack of bowlers who can bat..causing poor batting depth..basically DK k baad ekdum sannaattaa..

are making balance even lower than 50/50..ahh dont forget fielding getting poorer..

We are running this race with one leg..

Axar Ashwin Thakur chahar Patel. This should be our tail. Batting till 11. Bowlers anyway will get hit. So play bowlers who can bat.

Chahar seems to be reliable bat..and Thakur will be handy as well..

If we have to chase..we may have to keep bat order flexible..so one of these 2 can be sent up..or some seniir batsmen need to bat all the way thru to guide the chase..with these lower order bats…

probably same in case of setting up total

Ind "won" its first warm up game against Aus. Below are selected performances:

  • Harshal's 19th over where he picked up Finch and Inglis was run out
  • Shami's 20th over (his only one in the game) where 4 wkts including a run out fell in the last 4 balls
  • Kohli fielded superbly in the last two overs, creating a run out and taking a difficult catch

I am elated with Shami's performance. Though it was only a warm up, he hadn't played competitive cricket much since IPL. To come and bowl accurately the 20th straightaway was heartwarming ... However, Ind's performance also raises a few question marks because Aus, playing w/o Warner, Wade, Hazlewood, & Zampa, was cruising to a win and only stumbled in the last 12 balls. If you see those 12 balls, those were like outliers (a small chance of such things happening often). A part of me asks - "would this warm up performance remain Ind's best in this tournament?" If so, miles to go before the team sleeps.

Ind's next and final warm up game is against NZ on Oct 19th 4 AM EST.

even pre tournament not many were expecting india to go in semis so we shouldnt be surprised by what has happened.

Actually,  losing the SF was never gonna hurt most Indian fans.  It was kind of expected. They were mentally prepared.  But what they were not mentally prepared was to see this is the SF.  "Eng 170/0 in 16 overs while chasing 168".
