He is one trick pony as batter. Anyway good player to have..He is least of our problems. KLR,Rohit,DK,Ashwin are the real problems. 4 over the hill players occupying deserving players space. Also good for nothing Chahal and Harshal but thankfully they aren't being picked in XI.

It was good while it lasted. Bad days ahead for Pandya.

Pandya is a good bowler. 5/10

 

He has noteworthy performances with both bat and bowl.

Not bad for someone batting lower down the order who does NOT get to stats pad versus NED, NAM, SCO, etc.and who also bowls. Has not even played 200 balls in total. 
 

In 13 innings, already has won Ind 2 games against Pak (one in Asia Cup and one in this WC). Against BD with the bowl in 2016. And expected to get even better!

He is limited against hard lengths, but still someone who start looking for runs from ball 1, can attack spinners and full length deliveries.
Him and SKY are the only 2 guys who can play at high SR from start without taking many balls to get set.
That being said, we need to start grooming other Pandya's from domestics post this WC, I have a feeling his back may give up anytime now.

Other way around. He is active when he thinks he can write against Sir Don … But that usually backfires

Pandya as i said many times will never be main act even in t20s. He is very limited bowler and as batsman will have his moments but I have zero confidence in him to carry India home in any big matches,He is in his peak and it is as good as it gets as far Pandya is concerned.

KL Rahul is just down right putrid and has always been putrid in pressure. Pandya is 1000 times better player under pressure than Rahul.

Irfan Pathan won us Perth test in 2007.

He was player of match in 2007 World T20 final. He didn't had the full fledged career but always had his moments. There are more performances like this from him, not only these two.

Irfan Pathan is very very close to a genuine batsman. In current era he can walk in as a pure batsman.
