Losing to 1 or 2 runs is still memorable. And how does it make the innings less important? When he he got them so close alone, it's already a great innings.

It is. but winning gets hype else its forgotten soon.Unfair but it is what it is.

There was a run out chance as well that was fluffed, there were at least 2-3 chances which Oz missed but when you're that good luck seems to always work in your favor. Would be interesting to see what happens to his luck towards the end of his career.

more than luck, that innings was at his home.

Would we hype home performance that much? We'd call our players home bullies

Nah if it comes in a back to the wall situation like that, the innings will be hyped even at home. Vvs281, Sachin's chennai test etc.

Problem with this era is, we're so dominant at home, our players never face a situation like that. I'd love to see what pant can do if he had to chase 100 runs at chennai with just one wicket left but that situation may never come

Pak took a miserable score of 137 to the final over with their main fast bowler injured after 2 overs. The result would have been even closer had he bowled. That is the utility of pace. There is no doubt that the Pak batting is suspect but that is another issue.

Anyway what we need to focus on is the two consecutive world cups where we have lost by 10 wickets. The trundlers and pseudo spinner strategy is to blame, Not a single wicket? Come on.....
