Indian media: Pakistan did black magic on our players

Forget Oakland - go to the ghettos of Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, New Orleans (most of the city is a ghetto) and you will find places similar to this. Go to DC/NY/LA and you will be amazed by the number of homeless and destitute on the streets. You will find similar places everywhere in the world - "developed" or not. Even in Qatar you will find modern slave quarters similar to this.

I am not sure what point you are trying to make though @zen.

What Oakland? I have not mentioned Oakland. If you are talking about ghettos, they don't show that USA is like India so they wouldn't even show that India is like USA. Please do not continue to rely on logical fallacies. I have already mentioned this - "Much like how Pakistanis talk about democracy and secularism, Indians talk about developed countries. Developed countries does not mean that everything is perfect there and everything not being perfect does not mean India is as developed."

You asked me about if India is primitive or developing iirc and I showed you what I meant by primitive through pictures (it is as simple as that. Taking about ghettos in USA does not change what I am talking about  ). Talking about ME countries, there are developing countries there but not necessarily primitive. India and Pakistan are primitive developing countries, 50-100 years behind depending on what's on the table. In certain fields, both these countries can be competitive.

Use of logical fallacies, excuses, pointless arguments (such as "Where is OBL's body?"), etc., is not going to elevate Ind's (or Pak's) status but it would only highlights the type of people one would be dealing with (it is a negative sum game!) where they are ready to resort to hook or crook to live in their delusions.

@bharathh debate is about how primitive a country is based on pics from internet. iow, Kaneda is the most advanced country in the world! Where they can kill natives and adopt their children and run a separatist movement from far away to disrupt a foreign country, is the epitome of advancement.

Kaneda scenes btw,

Qatar and ME are not primitive because they have big buildings, but, at least are developing , but India is primitive , because there are no big buildings in India and Slumdog millionaire is reality

If you think about it a level up, its about acting superior on the internet by looking down on a fifth of humanity when talking of two very populous nations. There are people who work towards transforming these nations one step at a time and there's others who leave India for greener pastures & then act tough on the internet.

If I understand you correctly - you are saying that some internet pics about India substantiate your generalisation that India is primitive - but similar arguments about the US are a one off? I guess ppl living homeless and destitute in the US or other places or say living in ghettos where even the police are scared to go to are a symbol being an advanced country? Noone claimed India is developed. It is not primitive though. Definitely not the whole country. Many parts are now pretty well to do. Does that mean certain areas are not backward? No of course not. Is there a lot of work for Indians to do - yes there is. However, there has been remarkable progress in the last 20 years and calling India primitive based on your biased opinions is flat out false.

I think you've been watching too much Slumdog Millionaire.

Also, the bolded part in your post above makes no sense as you are the one generalising an entire country of 1.4B ppl and the 7th largest country by area based on some pictures. Surely you see the irony in that?

They are so advanced that they quell dissent quickly through intimidation and force while giving moral lectures on how to deal with protests humanely btw. In fact their PM came out and justified his autocratic actions by calling all the protesters anti-national. Same with the native americans (canadians?) protesting the loss of their land by the building of a gas pipeline through their lands.

I have interacted with many (desis mainly and some obscure whites) who bring up population, omg so many people in India, humanitarian crisis  etc. one gora openly said why do India need smart phones or rockets sent to mars,  when there are people who  defacate on streets! But that is slumdog millionnaire reality.

They have the very same capitalism where they have homeless on streets while they lecture India on religious freedom. Same thing.

Nope, I am saying that India is primitive based on my "extensive" knowledge of the region. Those pics are used as each one represents a 1000 words. They have no relation to "exceptions are not rules" points.

No amount of delusions or logical fallacies can make India, which is 50-100 years behind in certain areas, while being competitive in certain areas, anything else.

I am not debating here but only expanding on what I said if there was a confusion since you inquired.  India is a developing country and it is also primitive.

A certain section is secretly ashamed of India and therefore attempts to create fake image of India as "all is well and improving" to impress the west. I think that is being selfish and insensitive towards the unprivileged, while trying to sweep important issues that India faces under the carpet.

Imagine trying to show that India is like USA or whatever (As if anyone is going to buy it. That is Pakistani level delusion), when millions of people fight for survival everyday.

One needs to introspect and accept the reality!

The very fact that you feel that these pics are the only representation of India shows your "extensive" knowledge about the country.

I am not sure what you think putting pictures like this is supposed to indicate? Ppl have put pictures like this about the US and other countries too! If you scroll to previous pages you will find similar ppl in the "developed" countries as well!

You have a certain self-loathing about your country of origin - fair enough. I don't about the country I live in. I see all the progress that has been made in the last couple of decades. You want to be blind to it and want to continue thinking of us as a land of snake-charmers - go for it. Just don't expect people without your "extensive" knowledge and that actually live here to agree with you though.

Another logical fallacy. My extensive knowledge of India comes from having lived in India, having properties, families, friends, employees, etc.

Already told you about my connection with India and have traveled (and lived where applicable) in many parts of the world.

Thinking about the unprivileged, accepting the reality, etc. is not self-loathing ... A self-loather tries to create a fake image to impress others because he is so ashamed of the reality (oh how will those in the west judge me if India is seen as such!)

You don't live here. I do. India is not a primitive country by any stretch of imagination. There is a lot to be done to bring up the entire country but a lot of it is going in the right direction.

Nothing more to add. Have fun with your poverty porn.

All developing countries would be doing something to move forward. As I said, India would be competitive in some areas, while 50-100 years behind in certain areas.

Please do not associate fun with poverty of the underprivileged and those who fight for survival everyday. If you haven’t try to help someone or some family out. Many with great potential could be deprived of opportunities. If they had the means, who knows they would actually do something meaningful for India.
