Now there are some reports that, Pant had to call for an ambulance himself, and people that were present at the scene, took money from him in the car and fled.

I reckon he may recover by then... It will be tight though. BCCI will try its best. Pant on one leg is better than our maharathis in Test.

We can never be sure. The way NCA has functioned in recent times...

Horrible accident . He is lucky he got away without any big injuries. Guyis tough...he willbe fine. Hope to see him on the field in a few months.

Fog in NCR ,UP and uttarakhand is horrible these days. Just came back last week....

We were driving at 10-15 kms per hr for a along time and just hoping there were no idiots on the road driving fast .

Should never go without driver or another partner who can drive when you are travelling late in night or early morning. The incident sums up how fragile life is. No matter how big star you are, one moment of carelessness here and you're done. He will come out as better person out of this, Incident like this and surviving out of it makes you grateful for the life you are living..

Good to know that he is safe but consider the injuries he has had and the setback that he will go through, this could well be the biggest loss in Indian test cricket history.

He is a generational test player.

I really hope he recovers quickly and is looked after properly.

He’s the next potential Test captain of India and without him the dark days will intensify for Indian cricket as we will go back to Kela and Saha as our premier format keepers.

Looks like a major accident, and he is lucky to not have sustained major injuries if that's true. But full extent of injuries may not be revealed till all scans especially for spinal cord, brain, etc. Hope it remains as nothing serious.

Just goes to show how risky it is to drive at High Speed especially at night.

He has already fulfilled his talent and he ll be fine in 3 months.. most important is there is no internal injury .. everything else can be rectified.. most are superficial except knee..

Shocking. That looks bad.. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Always have a driver when you can afford one, particularly when you are doing physically strenuous jobs

rash driving clearly

This is bad.. Just as bad as DUI (Driving under Influence). Like Sallu Bhai driving over pedestrians.

Thankfully there were no other casualties in this case.

When you are in a position not to drive, then don't drive.

That would come under drowsy or tired driving. However, there are no laws against that if I am not wrong.

One can be charged for the damage caused due to the consequence of tired driving (as it would be the case even if you are not tired).

Yes, it is better to be proactive and not drive when tired. Unfortunately, it is far too common.

I don't know about India, but in the US, dozing off behind a wheel (even if you are not driving) is considering driving under influence - equivalent to driving intoxicated and is punishable by law with an arrest.

Any driver who causes an accident can claim that he dozed off.. If he is tired/sleepy/not in a position to drive, he better not drive.
