Are ICFers starting to run out of scapegoats to blame for Indian Cricket's issues?

bowling selection quality is debatable. assdeep is not an ODI bowler based on either bowling style or list A record. shami is over the hill, and not as potent as before. bumrah, siraj, umran are a good combo.

Arshdeep is not our original pick. He is our death bowler in Bumrah's absence. I believe Umran will start now if Boom is still injured. Kuldeep was ahead before his injury though.

Bumrah-Siraj-Prasidh was what we were trying to build with Shami, Chahar, and Sen as backups.

Right now it's Dravid and co. Hardik is no longer flavour of the month on the forum.

Post Dravid, you guys will find someone else.

Kohli used to be a criminal when he was captain. Now he is a hero, our fast bowling messiah.

An issue is “armchair expertism” where many fans think they have the best answer for Indian cricket. They make their 11s and whatever. When the teams don’t align with their 11s, they feel things are not right (psychological effect). An expert is supposed to be “rare”. In a group if everyone is an expert (like in social media), it is nothing more than a negative example of mass behaviour.

2nd trap for themselves is when they think the team should win every game. When the team wins, they act like they are the team’s biggest friends, when it loses, they act as if they are the biggest enemies. This happens in every game. They are only fooling themselves.

3rd is expecting every player to perform similarly. For e.g.  if KS Bharat plays a game in lieu of Pant, KS Bharat is expected to play like Pant even if it is his first game (could be after a long time), while the other player is playing for years. Basically, imagining players to be like machines where they turn out consistent performances no matter who plays.

In short, no matter how many 11s you make, spam on social media, and shout from the rooftops (all pointless exercises as there is someone else shouting something different based on his/her random opinion):

a) Teams are not going to be as per your 11 (if say 80-90% of your preferred players are in, consider it good)

b) Team are going to lose (Fans have to learn to accept both wins and defeats as those are part of a sport)

c) Players are not machines

Many talk about being a nation of 1.4B, but they are a part of that 1.4B too and they have done almost nothing. On top of that people act as if they are a part of some solution (Working for some X company, doing repetitive tasks, etc., means little. Ants work too. Many living creatures put their lives in danger to feed their off springs every day).

The issue with many fans is that they have forgotten the joy of following sports and created a trap for themselves from which they find it difficult to get out from.

And you think people giving Gyan here are different than the masses. If so wait till odi series starts and Rohit lead the team. You will see randi Rona of some of these gyani posters who exaggerate themselves as some experts and dishing out on 1.48 billion people as if they are different. i believe you are new you should check out these gyani posters past threads. At least 1.48 billion ordinary people don't spent half of their life writing essay on ICF and creating 10 thread per day basis they dish out what they feel and then move on with their daily ordinary life. Now you can judge who is more worthless.:dontknow:

Fair point. I think we all should just learn to de-stress and take results of bilaterals lightly. Just look for players who show potential.

We need to kick seniors out and focus on building the best team on merit which seldom ever happens with Indian selection committee.

Yes I remember ankit bhai with his jholaa baaap lectures lol.
