Frustrated
Can't blame the Indian fans for not bothering to watch the hockey games, if our team is this s**t. It might sound harsh, but that's the reality. Link to comment

Indian hockey and other sports don't need such fickle so called supporters/patriots who will tune in to cheer them once in 4 years and start deriding them the minute things go awry. No wonder India has zero sports culture. Norman and Lord 2 Link to comment

If you look at performances in last few years, Germany isn't above India, definitely not. Even Argentina and England are at Germany's level more or less. The top 3 however are a class apart. speedracer 1 Link to comment
Gollum
Harmanpreet's mental checkout was the clincher. Otherwise we have shown top 4 level despite nerves, poor form, Hardik's injury. Ind-NZ was a proper fluke, pit this India against Germany and we will beat them more often than not. Seen all top teams this tourney, only Aus, Bel, Neth are insurmountable for us. Link to comment

Ref was fully against us. I feel we do quite well vs Germans and nedtherlands. Problem is australia. The one team that just knows how to destroy us. Even Belgium v india lot of them has been close games. Edited Thursday at 03:16 PM by speedracer Link to comment

We played better against Eng than Germany, better against Spain than Aussies. NZ result was fluke. Hardik's ouster after the Eng game rattled us, and Harmanpreet's no show. Link to comment

Tiny 3rd world Lanka (population less than half of NCR) makes us sweat in ICC events, Asia Cups, won an ICC title more recently than us. Negative H2H against all major teams, worse than minnows in 40s, 50s, 60s, large part of 70s and 80s. Between 1986 and 2001 we had only 2 overseas test wins, one in Dhaka and the other in Colombo. But yeah let us forget all that and bash all other Indian sports teams/players. Edited Thursday at 03:59 PM by Gollum Lord and speedracer 2 Link to comment

You are right, Dutch did beat us in a controversial match in last WC's QF. Dubious refereeing there as well. We do well against Germans, worse (but not hopeless) against Belgium and Dutch. Against Aussies we lose our heads, forget recent hammerings.....we dominated them in 2 previous Champions Trophy finals (against their full strength teams) and still managed to lose to them in shootouts. Both India and Pakistan match very well against Argentina though. speedracer 1 Link to comment
