India has a set of players who specialize in bilaterals esp. in favourable conditions, and only a few players (like Sir Don for e.g.) that lift their game versus full strength strong teams (Aus, Eng, etc.) and in key games. His appointment as skipper in that format also sort of secures his place in ODI XI, such are the machinations of Indian cricket. Pandu's batting is not going to deliver what we expect of a late middle order batsman in LOIs. His bowling is ok but offers more bang in SENA conditions.
