Mcgrath

Marshall

These 2 are irreplaceable. Let's be honest. No one comes close to these 2.

Rest are all debatable

Could go garner and hadlee

Any combo of holding hadlee

Imran if it weren't for the cheating tactics could have been part of the deadly quartet

Ambrose is the other one. Ambrose not touring India is a drawback against him. He actually dint perform too well vs india even in w.indies for some odd reason.still one of the best ever.

Steyn isn't good enough. Sorry. Can't average like he does in Oz, England and Pakistan and expect to be the greatest. I remember there were incidents where he scuffed the ball for reverse swing in India too.

I need clean players. Would even put Donald over steyn.

Naah, Wasim was far more skilled and versatile. Davidson is just old brigade hype imo.

wasim relied more on home umpires and ball tampering. no evidence that davidson did either. also add to that (more-or-less substantied) allegations of fixing for wasim. given how critical we are of azhar (for good reason), it staggers me how players from other countries get a free pass.

akram ahead of davidson as bowler, but latter is better as an AR package.

Holding/garner

Hadlee

A good set of bowlers but as a unit not sure if optimal, for e.g.  you don't necessarily need McGrath if there is Hadlee, who can bat well too.

Similarly, there can be more optimal options than Holding/Garner such as Ambrose, who can use bounce well and be lethal in the 4th innings. There are likes of Allan Donald, who at his peak was excellent too, as well.

Not surprised to see Hadlee, Imran, Steyn, Marshall, Donald, & Ambrose at the top :thumb:

garner and amby are two tall bounce bowlers, but two other WI greats I saw were croft and tony gray; latter in particular could have been more devastating than garner IMO
