Kohli

Kohli hasn't made any difference. India has always won at home - with or without Kohli. And away from home he hasn't made a difference in any Test the way Pant or even Pujara has. The Aus series underlined the fact when he went back home after losing the first Test and the team actually looked like a team under Rahane, and won the series. And for the last 4 years he's averaging around 30 in Tests and the worst performing batsman in the team.

In this case, statistics are like mini skirts, they reveal more than they hide - (Siddhuism?) and further Kohli skipping domestics doesnt help his case. If its a spinning track, better to punt on other domestic batsmen (even Shreyas Iyer)

PS: With the thought that class is permanent & form temporary, Aus series may be end of Kohli's test career

No they haven’t, we lost two series against Eng  just a year ago and were whitewashed in Aus and Eng. atleast watch some test cricket before spouting nonsense.

Compare that to our away win ration after Kohli, the difference is humongous, only an idiot will deny that.

Also Kohli was the highest run scorer in the finals of last two icc trophies that we won, the man of Finals, the GOAT.

Win ratio after Kohli is thanks to Bumrah and our bowling. Name one away innings where Kohli actually made a difference. I can recall 2-3 innings from Pant, 2-3 knocks by Pujara, Rahane's innings at MCG in 2020-21 etc. Name one away Test innings by Kohli which made the difference and resulted in an India win.

Indian team has looked better when he hasn't played. Happened in 2017 final Test against Aus in Dharamshala where Rahane picked Kuldeep and won us the decider. Happened again in 2020-21 in Aus where Rahane once again led a depleted team to our greatest Test series win in our history, and happened again recenty when Kohli was "resting" for the Eng series. He hasn't made a difference at all.

It's our bowling, especially pace bowling which has made the difference. Kohli has had ample opportunities to help us win Tests away along with WTC, but every time he has bottled it. Absolutely no impact with the bat and wish we had someone like Travis Head instead of Kohli.

Lol, is this how you use logic.

Sachin has 2 SENA test hundred in wins in 200 test matches.

Kohli has one hundred in wins in SENA, he scored 102 and 98.

Sachins record doesn’t change the fact that he still is Indias greatest ever test batter and similarly Kohli is Indias best test bat of the last decade.

Now lemme tell you what all innings he has played in wins

102 and 98 in Eng

Highest run scorer in Johannesburg win in 2018

82 in MCG win in 2018

You are the kind of idiot who will also take Travis head ahead of SRT.

So all in all your post makes no sense.

If you want to compare Kohlis away performance with Travis Head you are more than welcome.

Kohli scored 590 runs in Eng in 2018, we lost bcoz he had no support.

Kohli was highest run scorer from both sides in SA 2018, againwe lost bcoz of no support.

The moment he got support from Pujara in 2018 he avgd 45 with the bat and helped us win our first test series in Aus.

Same goes for 2014 Aus tour where he schooled their pacers, come back when Travis Head achieves all of this.

BTW nice try in Using Eng series as an example, we defeated Aus by 3-1 , this Hapless England side would have been decimated with or without him .

I know you have forgotten that series where he scored 600+vs Eng in India.

@Ultimate_Gamewhat difference has Rahul Dravid made in his test career in SENA, same for Sachin and Gavaskar?

and are they ahead of Head or not?

Dravid played that stellar knock in Adelaide - the one where Agarkar took 6 wkts.

Tendulkar had too many innings to count. He saved the Test for India as a 19 year old (was it Headingley?) where he remained unbeaten on a 100. He won us the first Test in England in a long while where he along with Ganguly decided to continue to bat in bad light and hammered England. That alongside his lone hand knocks in Aus where we lost due to us not having a pace attack. As for Gavaskar he was the architect of our first series win in WI in 1971. IIRC he scored 900+ runs in the series.

Literally every Indian great has had a stellar knock in a win. Can't recall even once when Kohli steered his team home or saved a Test. And that despite having the backing of our best bowling attack in our history. You could replace Kohli with any other batsman and the results would be the same.

No you are not able to list them, as I expected.

Gavaskar scored 700 not 900 and that was against a Windies side with no great pacers, Gary Sobers was there leading bowler ,lol.

Even for Sachin you had to count a knock in losing cause, lol. Started counting knocks in draw .

Should Sarfaraz play ahead of his highness ?

Literally anyone - Sarfaraz, Jurel, Musheer, Axar - deserves to play ahead of him.

Can't bat, can't bowl, can't catch and has been carried by the team for the last 5 years.

Two more matches and kick him out, enough is enough, he is showing no interest in working on his game against spin.
I know he can still score in Australia but still needs to sort out his spin game, there should be pressure on him to hit a century in the next two games.

Issue is people confuse his fitness with decline in reflex

Or a genuine lack of interest, all the melodrama notwithstanding.

Us plebs can complain and groan, as much as we want. While he is probably fulfilling any/all contractual obligations with sponsors that require him on to keep making these token appearances. He should take it easy on himself and us and his stats and call it a day soon; if he keeps going like this.

Yesterday's LBW wasn't even reviewed.
As a precedent Kohli walked off despite being not out back in WC2019.

What do we call this, a recurrent brain fade, merciful behavior :dontknow: ??
