Tushar Deshpande played all 16 games for CSK in IPL 2023.

Match 1 -  1/51 (3.1)

Match 16 - 0/56 (4)

In between, he picked up 20 cheap wickets with most of the wickets caught at boundary. Economy of over 10 RPO in IPL 2023.

A undeserving player to play all games. Can't believe Dhoni backed this guy.

Agreed, it would have been better if guy like Hangaregekar got the same backing from Dhoni.Dhoni always backed trundlers over fast bowlers.

Deshpande is faster than Hangargekar. He isn't a trundler.

Yes, he may not be a trundler but doesn't look like an exciting prospect.
16 matches are sufficient to judge a bowler caliber.
Doesn't have any bowling Intelligence. Just run of the mill domestic bowler.
16 matches, 20 wkts with an overall economy of 10.  Very Poor when you get the entire season.
He is not cut for International cricket and even IPL.

Gujrat Titans Bowling Review IPL 2023

Second consecutive final appearance and almost winning it second time. Dream campaign for GT. The best bowling side of IPL 2023 by country mile with top three wicket takers in IPL 2023. Shami won the purple cap, Rashid was exceptional as usual with wickets in the middle and Mohit came out of nowhere to be a reliable force at the death. They also had good supporting bowlers in Noor, Alzari and Little.

Mo Shami The purple cap winner 2023 with consistent powerplay wickets and excellent economy. ( 17 matches, 28 wickets, 8.03 Eco)
Mohit Sharma A revelation and a dream comeback. Subtle variations and bowling intelligence. A reliable death bowler for GT. (14 matches,27 wickets, 8.27 Eco)
Josua Little A decent support bowler for the main three bowlers and did his job appreciably as a middle overs enforcer.  ( 10 Matches, 7 Wickets, 8.64 Economy)
Alzari Joseph was preferred first choice bowler for initial few games before Mohit emergence. But his high pace did caught the eye. ( 7 Matches, 7 Wickets, 9.37 Economy)
Hardik Pandya  A disappointment bowling campaign for Hardik as he under bowled himself and never found his range. ( 16 matches, 3 wickets, 9.12 Economy)

Yash Dayal ( 5 matches, 2 wickets, 11.78 Eco) confidence was was shattered  by Rinku and he never recovered from that.
Darshan Nalkande , a rookie trundler, was tried out for a game but couldn't do much.

GT had Rashid, The No.1 spinner in T20, and he delivered like he always do. On top of that, they found Noor who is basically a chinaman Rashid in making.
Rashid Khan ( 17 matches, 27 wickets, 8.23 Eco) The world top spinner narrowly missed the purple cap but picked up regular wickets including a hatrick.
Noor Ahmad ( 13 matches, 16 wickets, 7.82 Eco)  He matched Rashid step by step and even stole his thunder in the Final. A terrific find for GT.

CSK Bowling Review IPL 2023

C H A M P I O N S - It is quite unbelievable that CSK clinched their 5th title with an inexperienced bowling attack. The batting was carried by Conway and Ruturaj with support from Dubey and Rahane and cameos from Jadeja and Moeen. But it was bowling that exceeded the expectations. It was a collective effort from the group as no bowler took the lead role. Spin trio ( Jadeja, Theekshana and Moeen) was the primary mode of attack as Dhoni used them masterfully. Pathirana slingers added another dimension to CSK death bowling. Deepak Chahar took the powerplay duties while Deshpande, though not as effective, completed the attack.

M Pathirana The Malinga clone took the mantle of death over specialist and delivered more often than not. ( 12 matches, 19 wickets, 8.00 Eco)
Deepak Chahar missed few games due to injuries but after his comeback sorted CSK powerplay woes.(10 matches,13 wickets, 8.73 Eco)
Tushar Deshpande  The weakest link in CSK bowling but still got to play all 16 games due to lack of options. Overall Expensive. ( 16 Matches, 21 Wickets, 9.92 Economy)

Akash Singh ( 6 matches, 5 wickets, 9.89 Eco) was tried out in Chahar absence but didn't impress much.
Hangargekar ( 2 matches, 3 wickets, 10.00 Eco)  was also given couple of games but was expensive and discarded due to lack of control.

CSK relied on their spinners to choke the oppositions and they did that successfully most of the times.
Ravi Jadeja ( 16 matches, 20 wickets, 7.56 Eco)  A creditable performance by Jadeja in his weakest format.
Theekshana ( 13 matches, 11 wickets, 8.00 Eco) Not enough wickets but provided control for CSK in middle overs.
Moeen Ali ( 15 matches, 9 wickets, 7.50 Eco)  Moeen was under bowled at times but did well whenever given any opportunity.
M Santner ( 3 matches, 3 wickets, 6.75 Eco)  did well in 3 games with economy of under 7. But was overlooked as soon as Theekshana was available.
