Spot on, It is not fault of the players, it is the people who are selecting him or scouting them, they should be held accountable. deepdynamo

tapandrun
Arjun, Akash, Mavi are they loosing pace or were over hyped. All are sub 135. This is too poor they are in their mid 20s and already down on pace. these guys are coming through the system and how come no one is questioning this. This is why you need proper speed radar in Domestic cricket Edited April 17, 2023 by tapandrun deepdynamo and express bowling

Surely Avinash can't be worse than this guy or Harshal who bowls low full tosses & beamers at a alarming rate. Being a trundler will always mean you are a T20 specialist in India as you have control on line length & have variations. express bowling, deepdynamo and Mosher

Mavi choose the easier route to avoid injuries and this year he played domestic tournament consistently + got India Cap as well courtesy of his trundling. express bowling, deepdynamo and Mosher 1
putrevus
We can bash selectors and franchises all we want, we need to ask what are young fast bowlers doing in nets. Are they not impressing their coaches? Guy like Tyagi for example , he bowled well for RR so why was he not bought back or retained by them . KKR bought Nagarkoti when he was injured but he failed to deliver for them so was let go by them. Why are fast bowlers who are in the squad but are not being selected to play the matches. There is no clear cut answer for this...we have to go case by case basis 1. Tyagi when he performed well with RR came straight out of U-19 WC, he was in form, bowling quick and hence performed decently. 2021 IPL he played few games and got injured. Then mega auction happened and he was picked up by SRH, unfortunately in 2022 IPL he was struggling with injuries and only in late 2022 during SMAT and VHT he was able to maintain his fitness and form. 2. Nagarkoti's badluck that he wasted 2 years due to injuries in 2018/19. He played decent amount of games in 2020 but except for one match he performed poorly. Nagarkoti has maintained his fitness and this year he was a regular part of Rajasthan in limited over tournaments. There is no better way to say it but if a bowler is fit..he should be given an opportunity to prove himself when others are not performing. Kuldeep Sen was picking up wickets for fun last year left right and center in every game for MP...unfortunately got back stress at wrong time for India and post that NCA has not been able to make him match fit. Prasidh is another case. deepdynamo and Mosher

Prasidh is another case. Let us take one by one 1. Tyagi , SRH is playing Umran consistently, if Tyagi was bowling well in nets , wouldn't their coaches pick him to play too. 2. Nagarkoti's injury is not the issue here, he is fit now but why is Delhi not playing him is the question. Ponting and Ganguly are there in the coaching staff, he is supposed to be capable of handling the bat also. Why are they not playing him? injuries are part of the life for any fast bowler, while I am concerned about the NCA but biggest question is why are these fast bowlers who are fit unable crack the playing XI

Bhuvi and Nataraj are defacto choice given their experience. So it was a questikon of Umran vs Tyagi...here Umran's performance of last year's IPL has helped him out. Also, SRH has managed to keep itself afloat by winning last 2 games so they naturally would continue. 2. DC's case I can't understand, they always make weird choices and playing Chetan Sakariya and Mukesh Kumar despite multiple failures is unclear to me. Even now they're scratching the table for their first win and are likely candidate of wooden spoon...so someone has to make a bold call and try out new players. See I can understand Indian selectors not selecting some of these young fast bowlers as they need captain and Dravid's approval too. 1.I don't think Nataraj has done anything great to warrant his selection in every match. 2. DC with Ponting of all people know the value of fast bowler and that too a bowler who can bat little bit. Same is with Punjab why is their young fast bowler riding the bench and limited to nets when guy like Rishi Dhawan is getting a chance to play.He is allrounder but everyone knows he is not getting much to do with his bat. Arshdeep did get chances from same Punjab team. Edited April 18, 2023 by putrevus deepdynamo and singhvivek141

express bowling
Indian cricket exists for batting. They don't want good bowlers unless they are established and add commercial value like Bumrah, Rabada etc. They want bowlers who will end up conceding 200+ and make the game "interesting" for batting fans.
