I disagree that  IPL teams are not looking for fast bowlers, CSK yesterday gave chance to a young guy from SL , why would they stop giving chances to a local young Indian fast bowler.MI did give chance to both Jansen brothers.

MI actually is giving chances to Indian bowlers as well..Arshad, Shokeen, and Aaj ka Arjun.
LSG backed Mohsin last year and now they trust Yudhvir (albiet forced due to unadkut's failure).
Other teams are behaving rigidly.

most of these chances are forced due to injuries.

Each team has played 5 games so far.
25/70 games completed.

Here how the team has fared with respect to Indian fast bowlers ( mostly trundlers) :p:
No. of games denoted in bracket.

CSK: Deshpande(5), D Chahar(3), Hangrekar(2), Akash Singh(2)
Deshpande got all 5 games and even though he is the quickest of them all but lacks that extra bit of an international bowler.
Deepak Chahar floated the ball and got injured after 3 games. Hangarekar and Akash Singh got two games each without impressing anyone.

DC: Khaleel(3), Mukesh(4), Sakariya(1)
One of the worst Indian fast bowling unit. Not one bowler of international class including two slow trundlers. No wonder DC is looking at a wooden spoon.

GT: Shami(5), Pandya(4), Mohit(2), Yash Dayal(3)
Surprisingly GT unit did very well except Yash Dayal. Veteran Mohit Sharma has been a revelation so far while Shami and Pandya has been decent as well.
Yash Dayal may not get a game anymore this season after his Rinku meltdown.

KKR: Umesh (5), Shardul(5)
Played safe by playing both Indian internationals for all 5 games. No chances to any other fast bowlers which is disappointing.

LSG: Avesh(4), Unadkat(3), Yash Thakur(2), Yudvir(1)
Another factory of trundlers except for the burst by Yudhvir in his first game.
Going forward wish to see Yudhvir gets consistent game time and no more of this Yash Thakur or Avesh type of losers.

MI: Arshad Khan(3), Arjun Tendulkar(2)
Nothing to write about as MI introduced two rookies. Both have been plain average.

PK: Arshdeep(5)
Not given any opportunity to upcoming fast bowlers and filled their team with overseas fast bowlers.

RR: Sandeep Sharma(3), K Asif(2), Kuldeep Sen(1), Navdeep Saini(1)
Royals do not have any fast bowlers of pedigree and on top of that, their best bet Kuldeep Sen is mostly injured.
Kuldeep Sen impressed in his only game before probably getting injured again. Sandeep Sharma has been impressive though using his vast IPL experience.

RCB: Siraj(5), Harshal(5), Akashdeep(2), Vyshak(2)
Siraj has ben  outstanding while Harshal has been the most disappointing despite getting all 5 games.
RCB did give opportunities to Vyshak and Akashdeep and both have been average.

SRH: Bhuvi(5), Natrajan(5), Umran(4)
Sunnrises backed their trusted trundlers-  Bhuvi (who has been excellent tbf) and Natarjan (  poor and also went for over 50 in two of the five games).
Umran has been more cold than hot and finally dropped after 4 games. He should be back though in later stages of the tournamant.

-----------------

Injured Fast Bowlers who would have played all 5 games , if fit.
Bumrah, Prasidh, Mohsin.

Who is to be blamed ?

Don't know...maybe the franchise ( who are not bothered about the speedguns)...they just need the guys who can do the job.

Maybe the scouts to be blamed because they seem to play safe and back the veterans of IPL and domestic cricket.

Or maybe its a culture thing...nobody is excited about fast bowlers bowling at rapid pace ( except for ICF)

I think bowlers themselves are to be blamed, they have to do more to get into playing eleven.

Sandeep if he was 3-4 inches taller would have beome a very good bowler for India also. He has all the skills to swing the ball.

Do we have express bowlers in the system. I don't think it is culture, DC is managed  by Ponting he would know how to spot a fast bowler.

There have been many foreign coaches who have managed these teams, why would they not want fast bowler to play?

Nobody is asking for express bowlers from the system.

A 138k-142k speed is good enough for International cricket and even Franchise cricket. Now if the bowler is brainless then he will not last long with this speed also. But its a good start to back a bowler. Eventually with game time he will learn the bowling trades like slower balls, knuckle ball, yorkers, bouncers and mix it up with lively pace and that generally do the trick.

Now, Do we have these bowlers (138k-142k)- I refuse to believe that we don't have. We have just seen Yudhvir hitting 138k consistent and hurrying the bat. Good enough for me to back this guy considering he can bat too. Will he make it? don't know but lets pick the right guy first. Didn't LSG back Mohsin last season and see what he delivered.

A trundler ( 135 or even lower) can be good too if he offers some other skills - Bhuvi (Good swing bowler), Deepak Chahar ( Allroun Package), Arshdeep ( bowling intelligence) and Sandeep ( Good Control). But the problem is the 'army of unidimensional trundlers' who offers nothing and kept getting destroyed game after game and still be picked in XI.

Bhuvi was bowling at those speeds in IPL for long time, what did he do in his career after he increased his speed. IMO 138-142 is not good enough unless you bring lot of other skills with ball.

138-142 you also need height where you can get bounce .

Trundler below 135 have to be extremely skillful with the ball to be successful in whiteball cricket in India on a consistent basis even then they will be hit and miss.
