Almost everyone who sees Sai for the first time says this. He is a versatile player with transferrable technique across the format. Only thing probably would be missing is producing 25 run over. That's okay. Not everyone can do that. Ultimate_Game 1

Output not commensurate with his talent PIcking the length is not exactly Gill's strong suit. I have seen him misreading the length especially against spin. Sai is very quick to go on to the backfoot or frontfoot. Dhruv Jurel is another guy who is excellent at pickign the length. Edited April 7 by vvvslaxman Ultimate_Game and Nikhil_cric 1 1

putrevus Posted April 9 Posted April 9 First let him replace guys like Abhishek in t20 before dreaming of replacing Kohli in Odis. Tilak Verma is better than him

He mentioned in the interview that he just reacts. That is precisely what i thought. He plays reaction cricket. You have high percentage of consistency when you just react to each ball. You don't play bad shot very often like Pant does.

Not good enough to play intl cricket but will always linger around due to RCB backing. If you're part of IPL "Big 3" - MI, RCB or CSK - you have a leg up on everyone else. Gollum 1

They are full of players who were in contention 5-10 years ago
vvvslaxman Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 GIven how loose the stroke play of our youngsters we have just Jaiswal and Sai having tighter technique. Sarfraz looks out of place outside flat pitch. NOt saying he should be sidelined. But he has weaknesses that are not easy to fix.
Gollum Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Every time I see him, I am convinced he is going to shine for India, if not ATG, at least a country great. Technique, temperament both very solid, and looks to have a good head on his shoulders.....focus/drive is missing in many of our talented youngsters in recent years. cowboysfan 1

They all look good on flat pitches of IPL but someone averaging under 40 in our first class cricket after 29 games doesn't give me much confidence. There is no evidence to suggest that a player averaging 40 in our domestic can succeed in test cricket. Though he can be given a chance due to his temperament. Even Patidar and padikkal average more than him in FC cricket. tapandrun 1

He did well for Derbyshire. Sundar practically had any first class experienced when he played that knock at Gabba. You take those stats at face value. Sarfraz looked out of place anywhere there was a bit of assistance be it is spin or pace.

Sundar was always a batter first, that too long form, was turned into a bowler by IPL teams. Reddy is a teen prodigy since his u16 days and made his FC debut too early. So it's too early to judge his success or failure. Edited May 3 by rkt.india

His FC average will improve, just 22 now.

He has intent but gets stuck too. He won't serve at international level for long.
