The moment we knew Kohli was done as a Test player : Capetown 2022

I wouldn't call pre-2014 Kohli good and there was nothing much separating him from others. The 2014-2018 patch is the one where he was good, and even there he couldn't create the impact you would expect from a premier batsman the way Smith was able to. It was still left to Pant, Pujara and our lower order & bowlers to win us tough games.

Kohli has been playing since 2009-2010 and in his 15 years career, he was pretty good in barely 5 of those years. Rest were either decent (2010-14) or pretty average/poor (2019 till now). There's nothing he has done which deserves such a long rope he has been given. And at the moment what's the point of extending that rope? What will we gain even if say a 37 year old Kohli manages to perform in a Test? It's not as if that'll be the second coming of his career given he's already on the wrong side of 30.

We have youngsters who need to be backed. Let Sarfaraz play or bring Sai in or let Easwaran get a game. But we're wasting that spot on a has been who hasn't delivered for India and is already well past his sell by date. I wonder what's the point of selectors if they don't have the balls to drop such a player. If you don't have the balls then don't become a selector. Become a commie or join an IPL team and continue being a lackey of the so called stars and the "King".

2011-14 was decent.

scored runs in home series vs aus, eng, nz

scored runs in 2012 aus series

Best case scenario is he averages 35 on this tour with 3 50s and helps India wins series, wins the WTC, does something similar in Pataudi and then retires. India's bowling is good so as long as batsmen put up 250ish odd on average they should win more often than not.

Doesn't have his spin nemesis so that is the best he can do.

Basically have a Pujara in Aus 21 and Eng 21 tour.

If Jurel and KL Score next Inning and Kohli scores another duck, and Gill is back from Injury. It might be the first time we will see Kohli benched.

PopCorn ready for all the meltdown.

broadcasters wont allow it- even if kohli scores 3 more ducks he will play all 5 tests.. BGT hype was built around Kohli

You're way too optimistic bud. Kohli hasn't done shyte since the last 5+ years and has been carried along by youngsters, lower order and bowlers. Yet he's still in the team while likes of Jadeja get the boot when Jadeja is actually a better Test batsman, much better fielder/catcher, and is a bowler as well.

Kohli can score ducks rest of the series and cost us the BGT series but will still be the first name on team sheet for CT along with another has been Rohit. That's the story of Indian cricket and tells you why we have underachieved to such an extent at intl level.

I see same morons whining about Kohli, this makes me wanting to see them cry some more.

Guy has more international 100s than any player other than Sachin, I want these fricking idiots to cry some more that would be more fun.

Kohli has his flaws but he doesn’t deserve this vitriol.
