We had fought for 3 years in Kashmir with Pakistan. So it made a lot of sense to make peace with Chinese at least. Remember even Indonesia those days had designs on Nicobar Islands. I wouldn't want to feed them on Indian taxpayers money or give them shelter... When millions of my fellow Indians live in poverty.
