He lacks the ability to find gaps and accumulate crucial middle overs skill, will get bogged down... lacks also the ability to strike from the word go. So, dont know where he fits in really.

he can score at 85-90 SR, which can be useful on some tracks.

That's because he mostly played in end overs. Ability of finding gaps could have improved if he played up the order for 10-15 games.

 

There was literally nothing to lose in trying it.

There is no evidence that Jadeja can be a middle order batter who is even serviceable. No. 4 is a tough place to bat and a guy striking at 50-60 coming in after Kohli's forward defensives against full tosses?

 

We are already losing middle overs bowling thanks to this guy, we'll end up losing middle overs batting as well.

No evidence because it wasn't even tried consistently. If the move failed, could easily go back to current strategy.BTW I mean't no. 5-6 not 4.

 

If they are sure about picking him, why not use his batting properly?

He's a bowler first. Let's get that very clear .   If he bats in the top 6, he's going to score a 32(45) knock and absolutely crush any chance of us getting even par. 

 

But fans and TM will justify it saying that he is only a support middle order batsman(if there is such a thing) and we didn't get 320 because Bumrah can't hit. 

 

And then when he bowls and picks 0 wickets, he'll be a support bowler meant to keep it tight and we lost because Bumrah picked only 2 wickets

- Logically KL should suck even harder at number 4 and 5 in LOI. That guy sucks when he opens these days. Number 4 and 5 is the hardest spot to play (cos you gotta control the innings). But KL has been amazing till now at that spot.

 

- Rohit has no business opening in tests.

 

- Sehwag too with that technique of his.

Jadeja's hitting technique looks worse than the tailenders' right now.

Let us face it. It is impossible to slot him anywhere in the line up.     CSK fans cried no end about this when MSD kept on promoting up the order. Middle order is a tempting idea as he can't hit sixes in the back end. But in the MO he can crush the momentum. As an opener as well he can do the same.

I don't know which Jaddu you are watching but Jaddu hasn't hit anything but thin air in ODIs since 2020.

 

Maybe he did for CSK but honestly that shouldn't count.
