All these days I was feeling that we were under utilising him at 7, he needs to be in middle order at 4/5 like yuvi etc. Now I realise even 6 is too high for him. Pat Cummins have better impact with his bat in this world cup than Jadeja

You are not wrong. He is better suited to 5/6, where you can take some time before accelerating.

But it can not work first time you try, especially on a sluggish pitch in a pressure game.

Agree about Cummins, I am a big fan of him.

Yes it looks like easy going by scorecard but I have watched Jadeja enough to feel he would have bottled both of these.

I don't know how can anyone defend Jadeja the batsman.

Oh we are onto feelings now. Good.

Not a natural batsman. All his high scores are in losing cause when matches are done and dusted. Doesn't have ability to negotiate tough spells, doesn't have long levers to bat at 8, doesn’t have mental strength to finish games.

He is a good bowler on turning pitches.

4 off his 5 highest scores in ODIs

78 v Eng - won game

77 in 2019 semis - match alive till he was there

66 v NZ - Tied game with 18 to chase in last over

66 v Aus - Won game.

What do the feelings say though?

Yes. 15 years of LOI and his batting always left a lot to desired. I'll excuse him for 2019 though that was on Dhoni. If Dhoni even took a few risks before the 48th over, we could have won the match.

Batting is his weakest suit. So obviously lot will left to be desired.

CT 13 and that semi is his best. One we won and one we should have.

Dhoni had to take singles, not risks. Usse woh bhi ni hua :((

Ok I will go by data since you don't like my feelings.

10 50s in lost matches

2 in won matches.

If you think he is a big match winner with the bat then lets agree to disagree. I don't.

Bhaisaab, Dhoni was shouldering arms to short outside crap. That needs to be put away.  Less risk in those shots.

Did I say he is a big match winner with bat? Don't put words in my mouth.

How many has Bhajji got since you compared with him?

if no. 7-8 has to make 50+, you won't win many games. They are playing catch-up only.
