Eagerly waiting for Poms vs Poyzzz from next week :phehe:

I'm always torn when it comes to this particular contest.

I'd usually back even BD against PAK.

But I simply can't bring myself to support the Pommies fully.

Ball change cheats, Bazball evangelism, whinging about pitches and DRS. Jimmy sledging Gill and then crying foul when he got a taste of his own medicine.

When you can't decide whom to support, decide whom you "hate" more.
Pakistan is unbeatable there.

I was going through some old scorecards and noticed this extremely strange thing about Saqlain- born on dec 29 1976 ( officially )  ended his playing career by 2004

Dhoni born 3-4 years later is still playing ipl and debuted for India in the same year that Saqlain retired.
Is there any other cricketer who had such a flourishing career retired so early?

(  288 odi wickets at 21 avg certainly puts him among goat spinners in that format )

Saqlain was no way a 76 born, more like 70/71 or something.

Retired in 2004 at age of 33/34...coz Sehwag exposed him and turned him into a joke. However, his performance were dipping even before that.

Shan Masood is about to lead the weakest Pakistani team in probably 40-50 years.

However, I do think that Pakistan have home conditions if they are able to leverage against a non-subcontinent team, England.

It's going to be 100 degrees and 50%humidity pretty much everyday. Those conditions will be foreign for English players and could take time to adjust.

He fudged his age by a good 5-6 years which you can see looking at him now. Regarding retiring early, Sehwag finished his career in Multan by hammering him mercilessly. He was never the same again. Very similar to what Sehwag did to Umar Gul in 2011 WC SF.

Yeah only Pakistani can fudge age by so many years. He had a good season in 2002 and career ended promptly by 2004.

Once doosra was banned, saqi, and other offies were rendered useless.

Chucking (doosra) was a menace till much later.

Murali, Ajmal, Hafeez, Harbhajan, Senanayake etc. all exploited it. Harbhajan was chucking away merrily even in 2020 IPL. All illegal wickets by these frauds.

he is very junior level employee. Oracle can give him at best some Relationship/marketing management responsibility

Principals (Principal Engineer, Principal SA etc.) aren't junior employees in Big Tech. They're in the top 5% of the employee pyramid, and they outrank most of mid level managers & management. Most Principals lead their own initiatives, and generally report into leaders/leadership level directly.

Murali and Ajmal were the most blatant frauds. Harbhajan atleast had some shame and didn't bend the arm so much.
