With all due respect , that Mohali 2011 semi final alone is bigger than all your coca cola Sharjah Cup finals put together. No Indian fan will ever trade the wins in 1996 QF, 2007 Final and the 2011 Semifinal over those random tournament finals. Especially when you consider the fact that we went to win 2/3 of those world cups...

WCC was comparable to CT, in terms of participation and status at that time, every single team arrived at full strength. Important for India since we justified our 1983 triumph with an undefeated campaign in Aus, played 5, won 5 (Pak twice, Aus/Eng/NZ once each). Bigger than every single cricket WC final till date IMO. Cricket will never reach such heights again, that was the peak of cricket craze, fandom, hype etc. People have other avenues of entertainment now, also the diminishing importance of international cricket compared to leagues, heck even cricket's popularity is decreasing now and not just in SENAW, that crazy passion is missing among the youth of today. raki05 and Norman 2

We'll keep reminiscing about 1983, 1992, 2011 etc. and SENA will keep mopping up the trophies. Aus already has won 3 ICC titles since 2015, the biggest prize in all 3 formats. Eng has added 3 WCs since 2010 and look primed to win a few more this decade. Even NZ has opened its account. Only RSA has to win now. We are in an area of SENA domination, at least one Asian side reached the WC final in all WCs from 1992-2011....but none of us have made the finals in 2015/2019. A crying shame if the recent trend repeats in 2023. That will make it 3 WCs without any SC finalist....heck don't even remember when Europe managed to keep South America out of 3 successive FIFA WC finals......and cricket has far less competition.
