Unfortunately this is not a surprise, maybe the manner of the defeat is a surprise but not the defeat itself. I always thought Pakistan would lose but chasing 50 off 50 with 9 wickets in the bag?

 

Apart from Fakhar there are just no players who can attack and successfully damage the opponent in this format. The leading teams all have 3 or 4 players who can do what Fakhar does and then some.

 

Pakistan have Rizwan, Babar, Saim Ayub, Azam Khan, Iftikhar, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Shadab, Imad, Usman Khan, Mohammed Haris and many many more players who are incapable of playing the types of innings that T20 demands. Even India might be found wanting because Kohli and Rohit are not as dangerous as they once were but further down they have oplayers who are dangerous and their bowling makes up for it.

 

Pakistan's bowling which is a shadow of what it once was still has some venom and in Imad some control in the shortest format but they are too fragile and inconsistent in the longer versions.

 

It's so sad to see this but if you're an Indian expect plenty more wins like this in the future - there's simply too big of a gulf in quality between the best teams and Pakistan.

Yup. Saw Dube drop that catch, swore at him for a few mins, turned the TV off and went out. Came back around an hour ago and was shocked to see India won. Initially thought they were showing an older match, or that I misread the scorecard. Couldn't understand as Pak weren't even bowled out! They had wkts in hand and still couldn't chase 119! 

 

The game reminds me of that famous B'desh choke from 2016 where they couldn't score 2 runs off 3 balls. Ramiz Raja and Waqar Younis must be getting trolled mercilessly

But this time it was more difficult to lose than win. When I left they needed around 100 runs in 17 overs with all 10 wkts in hand! I would back any associate team to win from that position.

I find these two quite fake, desperate for Indian views. In other shows at least we see genuine pain, sadness, introspection.
