Predator_05
well who else should have bowled last over. There was no 6th bowler for Chennai. Balaji should have bowled the 19th and Ntini the final over. With 18 needed off 12, Balaji's screw-up wouldn't have cost them as dearly
umpire
18 off 12, Ntini gave away 10 runs, so what the difference.

Guest HariSampath
Congratulations Rajasthan Royals !! Excellent game today, and the Royals did very well by winning it off the last ball. Chennai were almost good , but not just enough to take the game. Rajasthan had the luck of the Toss and put CSK in. The wicket was a terrible one, slow and the outfield even worse for a T20 finals, but both teams had it same, in fact it might have been better for Chennai when they batted earlier . The CSK opening was steady and even good we can say.....first 5 overs @ 8rpo with just 1 wkt down was lots better than being down 20-2 to Tanveer. Parthiv and Raina batted well too, and Chennai must have easily got 180 on this track, equal to 200 anywhere else, but as usual the 13th through 20th over was terrible for the SuperKings. Dhoni erred badly by sending in kapugedara instead of Badri at fall of Raina's wicket. Kapugedara doesnt look to be a cricket player at all, and he wasted 12 balls for 8 runs, a devastating effect between the 16th through 18th overs. Dhoni had done this same mistake at least 3 times in this tournament, and he himself was not too great with the bat. CSK just managed 163....when 180 would have been a very good score. But credit to the Royals, their planning and bowling in the last 6 overs would eventually prove to be the difference. This was creditable when considering that Tanveer was taken for 40 off his 4 and Warne for 39, yet they restricted CSK marginally. warne's use of Patahn as a spinner was brilliant as well, the 3 wkts vital and he hardly went for much. Having the Royals down at 43-3 was great fightback by Dhonis men, but Watson and Pathan took it away from Chennai. Pathan chanced his arm, was lucky being dropped twice but struck crucial sixes off Murali when the runrate was getting tough. A couple of quick wickets meant the game went down to the wire. Crucial runs from Warne and Tanveer ensured they needed 8 off 6, almost nothing in T20, but Chennai managed to take the match to the last ball, Balaji bowling poorly to give wides and extra runs, and the win came off the last ball. Although Chennai was excellent in taking the game to the last ball, the better team won, and deservedly so because they had been brilliant throughout the tournament. Royals played the big moments better, Chennai lost opportunities while batting, bowling as well as fielding and in a last ball finish, thats what counts. Great finale to a great tournament. :two_thumbs_up:

arkay
Excellent performance by Rajastan Royals. The standout from RR were Shane Watson, Asnodkar, Yusuf Pathan & Tanveer. CSK gave a very good run for the money. This match went till the wire. No one would have expected a better finale than this. Looking forward to the next version. Instant_Karma
Conga rats Rajasthan! :dancing2: I'm so glad that the Minor Premiers are also the Major Premiers. There is no need to extend the tournament with finals. It's long enough. The team with the most points should get the Premiership.
King
Couple of Aussies, couple of Indians and a Paki won the tourney. There couldn't have been a better setting for the finals. Rajastan knew all the time what they were doing and Warne was very controlled after having participated in crunch games in the past. The experience here yet again helped. But for Warne others would have blown it. Rajastan must own Warne a lot for winning. It was great to see Warne calming young ones' nerves in the dug out. Most captains don't do that and just place their demands on the young one.

Zap_Brannigan
Congrats indeed. I just think Rajasthan got lucky with team selection. Yusaf and watson almost carried them thro the trny and tanvirs bowling in the leagues were way over par than what anyone expected. Some of their biggest signings like Smith, Kaif , Younis, munaf didnt work out at all while Watson who was bought for only 125,000 was tremendous. Lets see if watson and pathan are on song next year. And chennnai, lose kapudegra.
