Last statement is in present tense. Extremist are paying price. 5-10-20-? years, the region is looking at the barrel. The rising population (esp. in terms of numbers), which creates its own viscous cycle, in the region is likely to create internal unrest as well. Extremism looks for a reason to unleash itself. We just saw a situation in BD where extremism vented out its anger on minorities. In the ME, Israel-US alliance has killed over 40,000+ people (may be around 45,000 by now) in Palestine. India is too huge both in terms of area and population for any milutancy to affect the government /regime changes. France still has a lot of heft, influence and strategic Interests in Lebnon. When Israelis hit Hezbollah, they are directly reducing/limiting French Interest/heft. Thats why no one had any issue till war was limited to Hamas. The day Israelis retaliated against Hezbollah, French had a Pain in their backside and took this war to UN. coffee_rules

mishra
Quote UN advisor fired after determining no genocide in Gaza Alice Wairimu Nderitu, the Kenyan who is the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide, will not have her contract renewed after declaring that the war against Hamas does not meet the qualifications for genocide. Israel National News Nov 26, 2024, 10:42 AM (GMT+2) UNGenocide United Nations headquartersiStock The Wall Street Journal reports that Alice Wairimu Nderitu, the Kenyan who is the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide, will not have her contract renewed after declaring that the war against Hamas does not meet the qualifications for genocide. The final say in her dismissal lies with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as he has the authority to renew or discontinue the contracts of UN employees. The UN has denied the report, saying that she is leaving only due to her contract expiring and specifically rejecting any connection to her determinations regarding genocide. A UN statement noted that “genocide is strictly defined in international law and any legal determination is made by appropriate judicial bodies.” coffee_rules
