Haters/critics common for stars. In insta Sundarpichai following only kohli in cricketers. Sunil chetri n amithab also following only kohli in insta. Kohli is very popular in general public after sachin

Because MSD doesn't have any active presence in social media? IPL matches are the best examples where every ground is a home ground for him.

I actually find the conclusion of this thread doubtful.... maybe cricket website like this one knows better but I guess kohli has more spunk and charisma than Dhoni, speaks better, more fit, more young, arguably better looks, better player for sure. 

 

At one time I was mad dhoni fan but that was 15 yrs back ... since then, it's kohli .

U must be not in reality. Kohli stature greater than msd in ww n equal/slight edge in india. Even trump mentioned only sachin n kohli names in one event

We knownhow kohli looked when he was new lol  He is popular because of his representation as a leading player.  He literally had no competition within the team after MSD left  But at peak  MSD had more aura and command of presence. I am sure Kohli himself will agree with that.  Kohli has massive presence. But not the peak MSD level presence. Even now MSD has massive reception anywhere He goes. kohlis fan base is basically RCB fan base

I am not crazy abt looks girls are(50% of population)....dhoni just carries fake smile, quite average speaker.... someone said kohli has more fans in Pakistan but he has more fans in Australia also...

 

I guess dhoni is more popular in Uttarakhand jharkhand TN , those people alone are enough to create an impression that he's more popular when he is not.

Popular meaning  well.liked . I don't think Kohli is well liked. Even y day choking was trending.  His fan base is absolutely  lowest scumbags. They insulted Manu baker by comparing her achievement with Kohlis Shoe. Then they threatened Gills sister with derogatory remarks after Gills 100 on the IPL.play off. Then threatening messages against anyone who criticizes kohli.  He himself insults his own international mates in the IPL. He is popular. Not just for good reasons.

Vvs laxman more well liked player than kohli. That does mean vvs more popular than Kohli?
