Trump directly met Dhoni and played golf with him when he went to America. Dhoni is still a huge crowd favourite everywhere in India. People went mad and filled the stadiums when he played in Vizag. He still has crazy following among all age groups.

Yes most of the fans are cult fans, they belive Dhoni bigger than any one. But reality is different.

Dhoni will always be x factor more than kohli. He inspired people and took over captaincy after disastrous wc in 2007

That's 2016 one. Present kohli no1... how can we measure ground level fanbase. I'm middle class guy, my insta followers also max middle class friends/family members. 60 mutuals following kohli account n 28 mutuals following dhoni. In my friends circle so many kohli fans there. How can we decide fanbase ?.. Kohli also owns the streets like dhoni, sachin.. recent mcg knock vs pak enough, lifetime settlement for kohli

Crowd response that MSD gets is something Kohli neve got. I honestly  wish Bumrah gets such a reception. But  MSD is adored because he is a winner

 3 titles. Then 5 IPL titles. Cl title. Kohli has done just batting.  That's it. Never led.India to famous win. One famous win was under Rahane. He was a failed Limited over leader.
