rkt.india
Pakistan has picked their tall 6'8 bowler Zeeshan while our tall 6'9 bowler Nishanth is sitting at home. These pitches on Asia cup are bouncy. WC pitches in SA will also be bouncy. Gowda who is tall needs to play. jayant goyat and Nishant both tall should be in the squad. Mosher 1 Link to comment

Agree, the selectors went for all rounders and nippy bowlers, they need to pick bowlers for conditions, maybe they did not expect such green pitches in dubai where ball seems around for 16-20 overs and went with the current batch.. Also they may need to send spies to SA to retrieve information about pitches and conditions in January and pick the squad accorsingly.. Link to comment

Nice action and strongly built, height as has been observed doesnt go well with tall bowlers in india as a general observation. So thats fine if there are strong skills to support pace. I am hoping Prem from Mumbai gets to play a game or two instead of somebody, he is also somebody who has a strong action, a touch taller than aaradhya Link to comment

However his main skill bowling has been good too, he has been amongst the wickets and has troubled top order batsmen.. From action wise, looks decent and seems he can grow stronger from the frame he has today, plus he is 6,3" so he has things in his favour, unlucky not to be selected. Link to comment
rkt.india
Why do they continue to play only two frontline seamers on these bouncy and grassy pitches is perplexing! Musheer can be the second spinner instead of Saumy pandey and bring in third seamer. Link to comment

I feel even if they had to go with spinners to bat, they should have bought Lakshay Sherawat the leggie who had an exceptional NCA tournament with the ball and bat... Specially against the teams with many left handers like pakistan, they need quality offspinner or X factor spinner if not seamers.. Simple innocuous left arm spinners will not have much of an impact. Do not see any good spinners too in the current pool, they are strongly relying on batting only to get them out... Edited December 12, 2023 by nsareen Link to comment

How the system has failed unorthodox X factor bowlers.. I feel the Indian coaching system is to blame with no emergence of unique Ingeneous bowlers, since the coaches do not encourage such bowlers to succeed and hell bent on only learning the basics.. Even in junior cricket, when it comes to selection matters, preference is given to orthodox bowlers.. If we hear Suyash sharma's interview with Manjot Kalra, he reveals how he wanted to leave cricket due to non selection even after doing really well. Short summary, there are many many good bowlers even spinners, they are not selected / nurtured properly and are left on their own.. Edited December 12, 2023 by nsareen Link to comment
